Honestly reckon he'll stay one more season as he's only just signed a fairly long term deal.

If they don't win something / qualify for the champs league next season he'll be off.

Much like the Modric situation a season or so ago

I think you might be right. He'll probably be forced to stay for one more season and then **** off after that. A la' Modric

They were saying on 5 Live how an ex-player has claimed Bale is worth in excess of 50 million. So I guess Daniel Levy has been busy bribing his contacts in the media then. Good way to push the price up.

Levy is a Spiv. He'll try and push the price up as far as possible by saying that Bale is not for sale. But if the right offer comes in, then he could be tempted. But I think Bale will be forced to stay for another season

He is young enough to give Spurs another year, and at Spurs he has the chance to be the main man and has the whole team built around him. At somewhere like Madrid, he would be second fiddle to Ronaldo.

Fully agree and there's all sorts of managerial uncertainties going on at the moment. AVB will be at Spurs for at least another year, the best thing Bale can do is stay at Spurs for another season and then weigh up his options at the end of the season. If Levy is sensible they can sell at a good price and reinvest the money in the squad. The over-reliance on Bale might allow Levy to redress the issues within the squad.

I think this is commendable but stupid for him personally. There is a fairly reasonable chance that he will not be able to repeat his heroics next year. Just as Ramsey was in a situation where the only direction was up, Bale is facing the opposite.

In this **** league Bale would still easily be amongst the top 5 players. In La Liga he would struggle to be top 15, same with Bundesliga. I could easily see him repeating his heroics. People said the same about Ronaldo in 06/07 and he went on to have an even better season the year after. Bale is no Ronaldo of course, but he is continuing to develop.

There are a lot of factors associated with him having a good year. Not just his ability. He will continue to develop, but that will have only a minor influence with how good his year will be. People still keep talking like this is an individual game. I don't think it is.

I think that what the rest of the team does has a far greater impact on Bale's success than what he does himself.

He is a cracking player but to be honest, i dont really care where he ends up. My only thoughts are that Tottenham are taking a gamble on keeping him for another year and they might miss out on a big money move cos he might just not repeat his form next season.
If Real madrid beat Barca to buying Neymar, Barca might make a move for him considering that they badly need a LW. Eitherway, he will ba loss to EPL if he does leave.

Bale is set to stay for £130,000 a week, well and truly smashing THFC's wage structure.

What's worrying is the amount of times he has had to produce something spectacular in order for them to get a win or a draw. It's the overreliance that is worrying. If he gets injured or loses some form, Sp*rs are toast. It's not even like they were providing him with assists to get those goals, they were moments of utter brilliance. Not sustainable imo.

if he stays it good news, for the other teams , and bad for them.

As someone says , they have to up his wages, they DONT buy any other decent goal scorers.

He gets crocked AT ALL and they are well and truly screwed . !

I get the feeling the player is happy to stay at Spurs regardless, he strikes me as loyal.
The problem for Spurs is that whilst they'd love to keep him I'm sure, they are working on developing WHL and can't pull £450m out of a biscuit tin from under the bed so they'll need to budget in the same way we have for 7/8 years and they'll look at the best ways of raising funds, Bale could easily raise £45m and if any of the chequebook clubs (and there's more of them appearing by the day) decide to make a serious offer Levy may struggle to turn it down.
We sold Vieira and Henry when the players were happy to stay, Spurs have done well to compete after losing Modric and VDV and perhaps Bale may find himself pushed out of a club he's happy to be at...

There was an article on the BBC with around 4-5 games to go that indicated that without Bale, Spurs would be 15 points worse off.

Can somebody work out, taking the points he won against Soton, Sunderland and any other games, where the Spuds would have ended up without him ?

They would have been 7th, behind Liverpool, who are also a 1 man team.

Regarding Bale, he deserves better than Spurs.

I like the poll results so far , it just goes to show how much of a **** we give dont it ..<rofl>

It takes more than one man to MAKE a team .

Keep him , sell him .........its irrelevant to anyone but spurs really.

No different to the situation you were in with RVP last season. Pulling goals and points out of nowhere single-handedly.

You sold him, and are a better team for it. I don't doubt Spurs are capable of doing the same, except we'll get twice as much for him as you got for RVP.

    7th <yikes> that's pretty shocking.

If and when Bale does leave, they are going to be royally ****ed.
