"bully" "assaulting our players" Based on a few rumours on OTIB, you're getting this information from? Please.
Ivan or gary no comparrasion As fans have quite rightly said Gary was the best since the great Alan Dicks.
Premiershiporbust.... As you well know, he fired himself by assaulting one of the players but he was lucky enough to be given the option to jump before he was pushed... He had run out ideas in the NPC and I don't expect him to do any better than mid-table next year, AT BEST... In my books that's a bit better than League 1, as for the bullying, There are two sides to every rumour!
We can dwell in the past as long as we want and talk about the rumours as to what happened under GJ's reign but the simple fact of the matter is that he is in the Championship and we're not - simples!
I'm pleased for Jamie Mcallister who as club captain lifted the trophy, met him last year just after his release by us, really nice guy who had time for a chat, took a bit of flak for us and I thought he was just an honest professional who gave us 100% every game,
You reap what you sow. The same saying I uttered the day he left as well as stating we would fall back into League One sooner rather than later. Unfortunately patience isn't a virtue with the vast majority of City fans who seem to have over inflated ideas about where we should be. Truth is we are not a big club and midtable in the Championship would have been ok as a building block. Congratulations Yeovil and GJ.
The whole assault thing was absolute bullshit. To be honest, I wouldn't even care if he did assault some of the players back then. This season, some of our players definitely needed assaulting. It was based off of rumour and nothing else. Regarding Yeovil, I'm happy for them. It was written in the script, wasn't it? They're currently a well-run club and Yeovil is where GJ's heart is, so he'll want to do well by them. I hope that Lansdown watched the playoff final, along with the rest of the board. Given our failings, I'm glad to see something like this happen. For the next year it is a reminder that we aren't the biggest club in the westcountry, and that even "small" Yeovil Town are a better club than the "big" Bristol City. All I can say for us is that things had better change in the boardroom. We've got a DoF now, but given the crappy Botswana tour I still fear that the board have far too much control and that they'll continue to run us to the ground by cutting costs and not investing adequately in the squad and into the new stadium.
I think it's plainly obvious to most of us that the board have been controlling the show for many years and you only have to look at the stupid decisions that were made to see that. Combine that scenario with allowing the players to do as they want then you have a recipe for disaster and that's exactly what has happened. It's a shame that you can't legislate stupidity and until someone decides to change things I believe we will continue down the same old road, so will anybody step up and prove me wrong?
I remember when Baff City were Yeovils rivals and big game of the season. What that club has achieved is monumental. Makes City look a bit silly.
