Leeds of yesteryear? Now its obvious the cnut knows nothing about football, so pointless to have a football discussion. Maybe if we engaged the cnut in a discussion about ugly fat blokes who embrace the vacuum cleaner for pleasure.....
Just shows Revieâs team was that fcking good people are still jealous of it to this day. The greatest English club side of all time many said at the time; better than the Busby Babes. If they had been located in Manchester, London or Liverpool, they would still say so

The only problem with Don Revie’s great team was that it was not located in the North West or London, it came out of a city with no football tradition, otherwise it would be remembered today for what it was; one of the greatest club sides English football has seen or will ever see. If you honestly believe the Damned United is an accurate portrayal of that era, you might seriously want to consider getting your head examined - it is deliberately innacurate. The idea that the manager of such a supposedly hated team could get an OBE and become manager of the national team, is ludicrous to say the least. The modern idea of that side is based on revisionism and slander. In 1969 most rated Leeds the best team in the world, and by the early 70s many rated Leeds the greatest club side English football had ever seen, comparing them to the great sides of Real madrid. Revie's Leeds were probably first English club side to play patient, posession football, the first English club side that could reguarly and consistently beat continental opposition in campaign after campaign. The first post-war club side that you would say was a dominant force in English football- ten consecutive seasons challenging for the title, and never outside the top four was a post war record until Paisley‘s Liverpool sides. Leeds pioneered professionalism, and total football, with roaming defenders, full backs and wingers. Which is the basis of modern football. Revie's meticulous managerial style is dominant today, Clough's off the cuff style of management died with 'Arry Redknapp and Martin O'Neill
A testament to how good Leeds were; AC Milan paid a referee and spent the entire match defending their own goal to beat a half strength Leeds side in the 73 cup winners cup final. Possibly the greatest ever Bayern Munich side captained by Beckenbaur himself also needed questionable refereeing and an entire match of last ditch defending to beat Leeds in 75. Which is a testament to that Leeds side, most of English football’s club triumphs in Europe have been on a defensive platform as underdogs, but when Revie’s Leeds team went into Europe they were genuinely feared, because they could play Europeans at their own game; posession football
The ****'s obviously winding you all up by trying to compare the tainted record of the Leeds that was scrapped with todays Leeds. I reckon he's an MK fan jealous that Leeds have taken over the newest franchise mantle.
Oh really? So good you must have won several European Cups/Champions leagues? Even 1? What none? How can that be?! You Leeds fans can argue til your blue in the face but you know the media and all neutrals regard that Leeds team as 'dirty' Leeds and give no credit or acknowledge its achievments. Whether thats fair or not, I dont know? I wasnt born then. But its hilarious how wound up it must make you. Your one period of dominance and its been wiped from history by most haaaahaaaa
What a nightmare that team must have been to play against, felt sorry for Southampton. Noticed a few things - from the first second Leeds were "defending" from Southamptons penalty area (i.e. rarely have I seen a team so in the face of opposition, seemed like it was 22 v 11) - Very noticeable that players pop up all over the place, Grey & Lorimer for example - maybe linked to that comment, its also with exception of Cooper the same 11 they played week in week out for several years - when admiring some of the skill, also noticed how they were doing this on a mud heap, amazing - its true what Revie used to say, we lose the ball quite a bit but the defence are so good they just take it back and tell Bremner and Giles to try again Why the **** can't we have a team like this again ? and..........wasn't just Marko who had his morale lifted, btw, Elland. That girl definitely likes poles
