NO .. i prefer Mark Lawrenson 10 times more, the guy simply can't disguise his bias against UTD

but will miss to see his face every time UTD win a title .. but seem he is going to BT <grr> .. well at least he will not be funded by my TV license tax .. £1.5m a year !! how much time he show up a year ? 40 times? so every time he put his a$$ in that chair for 60 min, he is paid £37,500 from our pockets .. <grr>

He has a few good moments but £1.5m is extreme. The BBC should use its money to fund young and talented journalists, not prop up the luxury lifestyles of celebrities.

He has been past it for years. He gave up speaking in coherent sentences long ago, instead just reeling off a series of adjectives to describe players and hoping that it sufficed. Add that to his obvious bias and his knack of interrupting other pundits and I'd say his departure will be welcome. Hopefully Bonehead Shearer, gormless Lawro and Bungalow Savage will get cleared out too.

****ing yes. It's about time they got some decent pundits for MOTD. How can anyone justify paying that much for someone that does such a **** job. And lets be fair, it's not the hardest job in the world and there are better pundits about.

I agree. Tbh I doubt many people give a flying **** about the quality of the punditry on MOTD. They tune in for the highlights and nothing more. I'd rather see some up and coming journos and commentators give a fresh perspective at a fraction of the price, rather than hear Hansen and Shearer trot out the same tired old ****e time and time again with the odd moment of insight.

I quite often only watch the highlights then switch channels when they analyse the games but I'd be a lot more interested in the punditry if they didn't regurgitate the same old **** every week. If they got some new, exciting people in to analyse the games I'd be much more likely to pay attention to the analysis.

Did you know Alen Hansen used to play for 'your' team Liverpool Sisu. Did pretty well there <ok> . I enjoy teaching plastic, glory fans some history about 'their' chosen club.

Most people seem to want former players for analysis, as it's considered more 'accurate'.

So if you want fresh people to analyse MOTD games, where do you go? Jason Roberts? <doh>

I agree they need to freshen it up, but short of hiring random people who know their stuff - and potentially aren't considered experts - then you're left going after moron players with no brain or opinion.

That, to my mind, is the same as wanting former players to be managers. The highest profile players are generally not the best managers, as can be seen if you compare the managerial careers of SAF, Mourinho, Wenger etc to players like Keane, Souness, Shearer etc.

I'd rather have people who weren't well known as players but talk some sense, rather than the high profile ex pros that talk ****e.

I don't watch MOTD for the pundits to be honest, just the football.

I think Hansen is one of the better ones as it goes but non of them add anything truly enlightening. Especially not Shearer.

I peed next to Hansen at Barcelona airport once, before the Barca v Madrid UCL semi-final in 02. You are allowed to "look" at celebrities; massive...

I pissed between Giggs and Paul Ince in Athenaeum in Manchester one evening. Daunting.

    Both bigger than me.

They were with Martin Offiah too, thank **** I didn't have that pleasure!
