Isn't Coloccini leaving? Williamson is ****. So Yang Mbiwa and Steven Taylor are the first choices. Either way, I think Chester will get found out in the Premier League when playing in a 4 man defence. His weakness in the air will be exploited big time.
He'll go for £1-2mill tops. Some people are taking the piss- £10 mill for Chester, for someone who hasn't played in the top division in his entire career. ****in hell!
Indeed. But talking up our players to make them out to be world class, when they've never played in a top division match & have just come from the second division is a piss take. Some City fans need to stop sniffing glue.
If the likes of Wigan, Southampton, Norwich etc can keep their prized assets I see no reason why we cannot. If Blackpool can hold on to Tom Ince for as long as they have, then why can't we?
I agree with you Strov, I can't see him leaving. I've read too much media speculation that never materialises.
Chester will more than prove himself and be worth more than £5M at the end of the season. Don't sell him.
On reflection, you're probably right about Villa. Lambert could be building quite a decent young side for the future, although you never win anything with kids. Newcastle? FFS They're a bloody circus. Always have been always will be. Still as others have said, we're financially stable, and under no pressure to sell, unlike when Turner was thieved from us by, oh err Bruce (S), with a bit of help from Duffman. Still every player has his price. £4.5m + and I'd snap that offer up
Aston Villa is a bigger club on paper BUT unless Lambert is given millions of pounds to spend the side will not do much better next year. Newcastle also a bigger club and probably safe from relegation next season BUT would you want to go to a club where the chairman is quite simple loony. The simple fact is that with no Euros or world Cup we've got a summer for all the newspapers to fill with transfer speculation and i would doubt even 1% of the transfer target speculation for each club in the PL will be spot-on. I'm even expecting a story about Steve Bruce going to a top PL side
Take Benteke out the Villa team (which is quite likely to happen) and are they that much better than us? I know they'll probably bring some players in, but so will we.
Only if they can retain/replace Benteke, take out his goals season and they probably would've been looking up at QPR and Reading. Also, they question wasn't where do you think they'll finish.
Curtis Davis also went for 10M! That's the kind of transfer that leads to massive figures being banded about for young english players
It's moot point. Mutes are too quiet to argue. As for silly money, like others have said he has only 1 year left on his deal which makes him vulnerable to a buyer - the club need to sign him up quick or they will be forced to sell him (we can't afford to see him walk next season(January for a pre contract agreement). We'd be lucky to get 3 million if he refuses to sign.
