I wish this knacker would keep his gob shut. How the **** does a story like this from someone of such insignificance make the news ?

I'd love him to spell out the 1000 players he reckons Beckham isn't as good as, wouldn't surprise me if he's put himself in there !

What a ****ing clown he is !

He must have been as high as his pelanty miss in 1990 when he did this interview

Waddle is a prize joke. How he gets to commentate on TV simply amazes me. Unless it's the TV bosses laughing at his stupidity as it nicely fits their stereotypical 'thick northerner' cartoon character view, with his cries of "Pelanty!" Twat!

    Don't you mean thick Mackem?

You're pelanising the whole of the north, saying northerner.

I know, but that is what those ****s in the media want. Generalising about all 'northerners' because it's more amusing for them.

    Wasn't Waddle born in Gateshead?

See where he's coming from, though the top 1000 bit is a bit harsh. We've got a mediocre Backham in Larsson, good delivery but can't pass a man for ****. too slow for a winger not good enough to play in the middle, it's frustrating cause it takes away your width unless there's a good full back to over lap.

Gateshead as it was when he was born didn't have the boundary that it has now, I believe he was born outside of the town limit.

I have always put Waddle in his prime over Beckham, despite that one dreadful penalty miss. Waddle would take on his man, beat him and with that strange shuffling gait of his get to the dead ball line, turn and put in a good cross which would put even the likes of Cisse and Ameobi onside.

Beckham milked the PR dream and, yes, he was good with the dead ball but if I could have Waddle over Beckham I would.

And as for him himself; I do have a lot of time for Waddle especially with his non-stop charity work in Sheffield for, usually, MacMillan. He organises no end of local fund raising gigs, golf tournaments and the wonderfully named "Waddle Waddle" which is rather much like the Walk For Life event. That he may come across badly on the radio doesn't necessarily mean that he's a total knobend and, as I have had said, in my view he was a far better footballer than Beckham.

He clearly wanted to make an outrageous statement about how average he thinks Beckham is to make a point (and I think he's a bit jealous he hasn't got the same riches from his playing days)... Unfortunately he hasn't got two brain-cells to rub together and has come out this, the latest in a long line of useless comments.

Beckham has won trophies wherever he has been, lifted England more than players like Gerrard and Lampard ever did, and has been a great ambassador for the game. Of course he'll go down as a great Chris you c***.

He's a thick mackem and seems determined to prove it. Its pure jealousy of the riches Beckham has earned and trotting out the same lazy myths. Don't get me wrong I think Waddle was a better player than Beckham, Waddle was an unbelievable talent. However Beckham sits comfortably among the elite players to have ever graced the PL. Dead balls, passing, crossing, strength of character, aerially, work rate, understanding of the game, the lad had it all. This attitude of "he made the most of what he had" is annoying. Its almost like its held against him that he was willing to graft. It then becomes he wasn't that talented but tried really hard. There is nothing wrong with being talented but still willing to work instead of being some talented enigma who on his day can be fantastic.

Beckham has won trophies galore and its no surprise he has done this wherever he has been. Of course he is then accused of picking his destination well. The lad can't win. The Real Madrids, AC Milans, PSG's, Man U's don't take you on as some PR exercise. You've got to produce the goods aswell. He has also transcended the sport with his time in LA. The sport has taken off, off the back of his time there. It was "oh he'll be there a year, he can't make a difference, what a mistake". Again he got his head down and worked and made it happen by excelling on the pitch.

Then there is his country. Let us down once but came back stronger. If we'd had more players with the strength of character of Beckham down the years, maybe we wouldn't be sitting so potless! (Waddle included!) That greek performance was a performance the likes of Waddle and most of Beckham's fellow stars could only dream about. The ultimate performance, full passion, work rate, class, drive and most importantly quality.

Taking cheap shots is just petty and incorrect.

That said, he's the most annoying knob in commentary and his suggestion that there have been at least 1000 players better than Beckham in the premier shows what a clown he is...in football terms anyway.

European preview: Beckham to play in PSG home finale.

David Beckham will play in Paris St-Germain's final home game of the season.

Totally correct. Beckham has forgotten more about the beautiful game than Waddle will ever know.

There's two knobs as pundits - him and that old Liverpool prick MacMananem - Espn will not get a penny out of me till those two are off the air.

Some players should stay out of the media to preserve their legend status - Chris Waddle & Alan Shearer are the two main candidates from Newcastle United's past that I would place into this category.

Sometimes, being on the tv/radio in your days after football, can seriously take the shine off your career... however glittering it may have been.

Sadly, we're seeing a multitude of ex-pro's getting sat on the tv sofa's - making absurdly outrageous comments just to bring themselves a little bit more attention.

    Pathetic.

Shut-up Waddle, it's really hard to stomach.
Shearer just makes me squirm now... acting like he actually put together the blurb he reads out on MOTD... <doh>
