Cabaye hinting at an exit?

I do hope this is just media crap.. although after this season I wouldn't entirely blame Cabs for eyeing an escape route as the next move he makes will surely be his last big one.

Yohan Cabaye has dropped his biggest hint yet that he could leave Newcastle United in the summer.

The former Lille midfielder has been linked with newly-crowned French champions Paris Saint-Germain, but the 27-year-old has suggested a move to another Premier League club would be his preferred option.

When asked if he counted on remaining at St. James' Park, the France international, who signed a five-year deal when he joined Alan Pardew's side in 2011, said: "For the moment, yes. There's one game left, we're going to try and finish well before the holidays. With regards a transfer, I have agents who take care of that aspect of things.

"[PSG] are a big club with a great project. But I've been playing in the Premier League for the last two years. I feel good here. I would be happy to continue in England."

When you only see the answers and nopt the questions it is impossible to make a judgement. The first question could have been:

"There's always lots of speculation summer transfers but at the moment are you focussing on the end of Newcastles season ?"

The second could be:

"PSG are said to be interested in you: would you prefer to move to PSG or stay at Newcastle ?"

The response to both questions was intended to mean "I'm happy enough here, thanks" but gets reported as "I want to leave"

 

Hard to draw many conclusions without knowing what he was asked. I'd like to see him stay despite underperforming and being a bit fairweather. We have to pack some steel around him and let him play and pick passes.

 

I say sell him if we get offered 20 million.

How they are reporting that as he wants to leave the club is beyond me.

Can't see it happening for one reason only. Would you invite your best mate to come play for a team in a foreign country and then leave 6 months later? Debuchy will be going no where as he has only just arrived and i can't remember the last time a player left the club after only 6 months (although i can think of a few i wish had...Ranger, Xisco...).

Ask yourself would you leave your mate just after getting him over from France 6 months earlier and talking to him about it for a year in advance?

 

I am very disappointed with Cabaye this year. Seems impetuous at times, numerous injuries, **** corner taker and not the commanding ball player he is supposed to be. On his day he can be brilliant, however, this year he just hasn't performed up to standard.

 

Not easy to do when everybody around you is performing so badly with poor tactics from the manager also affecting your game.

 

I can't see him going.

 

If the right offer came i would sell totally overrated imo.
Never seems to get a game by the bollocks and say im running the show today.

 

Who would offer us £20m? On this season's performances, we wouldn't get £10m.
