Football will seem very different in some places next season.

Sir Alex Ferguson, Paul Scholes, Jamie Carragher, Michael Owen and now David Beckham have a announced there retirements. All marking the end of an era in English football and a farewell to some key figures in the England team.

David Moyes will become united manager, Mancini has left City and we will have two Welsh teams in the top flight for the first time.

It is a summer of change in English football.

With United, City, Chelsea and Everton to have new managers, as well as AVB and Brendan being somewhat still unknown quantities, it does leave the next few years of the Premier League being rather unpredictable near the top. I think it will be pretty exciting. If ever there was a time for Brendan to show just what he's capable of this has been as good a time as any for the last 20 years for a Liverpool manager.

yeah it's kind of like the 90s are finally over, no serious all those players are linked to the 90s big time.

i agree its a real time to make a step up but the same can be said for spurs who if they don't get 4th will i thik have to fend off bids for their entire team, bale. If he thinks the top is possible due to ferguson going well.... he is unambitious enough to stay.

  6. TBF, we hardly noticed Owen (always injured) and Beckham (abroad) anyway and Scholes doesn't play as much as he once did. Plus, Carragher was only a bit part until Christmas too.

Will certainly seem different though. And I don't think the changes have ended yet <ok>

Wages start counting towards FFP in 2014 so there'll be changes to the transfer craziness, too.

Good comment. One team has to sneak in to the race.

Us or Spurs? Arsenal back up?

Moyes will try to change as little as possible. Liverpool & Spurs much the same as this season just a little less reliant on Suarez/Bale, or I certainly hope that we will be. Arsenal never change under Wenger.

And Man City & Chelsea will always make excessive changes to their team/style/manager (and still play horrendously boring and uninspiring football) every two seasons so business as usual for them really.

So I think you might actually be right <yikes>

I agree. Hopefully it will be more fun next year and genuinly more interesting.

I thought this year was pretty boring.

    Fair play to Beckham.
