Ok did anybody watch the Chelsea game tonight? And well done to them by the way! Any way during the awards ceremony there was a kid who went upto the Dias and I thought he was with Torres, but he seemed to get separated or more clearly disowned, and then dragged of by some security bod. Was he a players kid or some cheeky upstart? Who saw it and what do you think?
Platini missed a trick he should have put John Terry's medal round the kids neck & told JT to do one when it was his turn.
Didn't see the kid but saw a Chelsea fan run on to the pitch at the end to congratulate Lampard. The Chelsea skipper dealt with the situation admirably by being very friendly, asking him to point out where he was sat in the ground and then persuading him to go back - presumably to save him from the stewards kicking him out! The fan duly listened to him and rang back to the Chelsea end. Good on ya, Frank!
It was Torres' kid I think, I saw the kid with him when they were doing the guard of honour for the Benfica players. I guess they didn't want him there when the players lifted the trophy so he just got taken away, the guy wasn't messing around though!
I was kind of hoping someone would be kind enough to explain. In any case, thank you for your crass retort - which like my post, is pointless.
Basically plenty of the players had their kids on the pitch and with them as they normally do but what I think was Torres' kid not only stood behind/next to him on the guard of honour but also went up the steps and along the line where the players were getting medals, Platini went to give the next player a medal and looked surprised to see some little kid! Shook his hand and laughed and he stayed up there with the players and joined in until just before the trophy was lifted when he appeared to be manhandled out of the way by some security guy.
Haha, turns out he wasn't Torres' son! Just some kid!!! - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-22555151 Unbelievable, says a lot about security.
Funny bit is that they say he was dealt with quietly!! The steward yanked him away rather aggressively I thought!!
Made me smile when I read it the other night. They were perplexed at how the kid infiltrated himself amongst the players and how he got the opportunity to be there, forgetting the insignificant [hence why it was overlooked] point that the game was played in front of 53,000 people. Only takes one.
