Again you ignore the real issue glossing over it to arrive at getting into the play-offs for a second time ... the real issue is that he blew an amazing opportunity big time. Our League position in January was such that from there we should have been bitterly disappointed not to get automatic promotion rather than only scraping into the play-offs with an injury time winner on the last day whilst having to rely on Blackpool to bale us out ... Now I'm no gas head but an analogy would be finishing outside the points in a Formula One race when you'd been challenging for the lead two thirds through the race ... His inability to stop the slump (one of the worst I've witnessed as a Leicester City fan - definitely on the back of a run of good form and with one of the most expensively assembled squads in our history) culminating with our worst display of the season at Barnsley, and the rather obvious man management issues I'm afraid fill me with little confidence that Nigel Pearson is the 'right man' for the job of taking us up and, more importantly, keeping us there ...
Well I've spoken to Kasper - he says he will never go to Hull because it is "a stinky place overpopulated by blokes riding around on scooters and dodgy PE teachers ..."
We could give you Cameron Stewart and/or Jay Simpson as a sweetener if you like? There's more sites to see in Hull than just OLM and Charlie. They're not the only attractions. Does Kasper post on here?
It is in the Sun and the Mirror this morning, but they probably copied each other http://www1.skysports.com/transfer-centre/papertalk
Speculation is inevitable - every team going up will be looking to strengthen and in our pre-Thai ownership days we would indeed have been vulnerable Unless our owners decide to bale out of English football completely, you'd expect their ambition to remain - to get into the Premier League as soon as possible. That's not going to happen by selling our better players We can, if we need to, match wages of most clubs in the lower half of the Prem - and I doubt that the clubs in the upper half are going to be after Kasper - if they did show an interest that would be a different story. But we don't HAVE to sell - which is a big plus. Further, and definitely not meant to be disrespectful, - it is likely that the clubs going up now, together with about the bottom 6 or 7 above this season's Prem relegation zone will form the population from which next season's relegated teams will come - so the attraction of 'immediate' Prem football needs to be balamced with that - particularly if there is a feeling that we might get promoted in the coming season ... Not saying he won't go - just that, unlike in other times during our history, I'm not clinging to mere naiive hope in player's 'loyalty' to uur club as the sole compelling reason to stay LOL
Hull are a little naive though if the rumours are true. After they refused to do business with us what makes them think we will do business with them. Kasper will cost alot and I doubt he will be interested in signing for Hull
I doubt we'll be interested in signing him to be fair, paper talk IMO, Steve Bruce played with his dad, Alex Bruce is friends with him, easy for the media to link it all together really.
You think 4M is too expensive for Stockdale. Kasper will cost more then that plus his wages arent cheap With some high earners like Beckford and Danns set to leave we can afford to push the boat out even further to keep Kasper When he does leave us he is take a big jump up the ladder. Take you blinkers off and you will realise you arent a massive jump up the ladder. We can beat you on wages plus he is happy and settled here
Yeah, that massive one point lead we blew. The truth is, we (well, some of us) talked ourselves into believing second place was ours but the reality is we barely even touch it. Blackpool and Middlesbrough spend more time in the top two than us, look where they finished. Presenting the facts in terms of Pearson's record is hardly glossing over the facts. The worst slum I remember followed the Wycombe cup game. We're we near the top of the Prem when we played them and ended up finishing 13th. Unlike this slum, we never recovered within that season. Or the season after for that matter. Much, much worse, albeit in a higher division. What are the obvious man management problems? That he doesn't tolerate crap from spoiled, over-paid whiners? If so, more managers need man management problems. We don't need players like that at our club. They are/were only here because they were signed by a reckless (with other people's money), ignorant (in terms of this division) individual that we should never have had at our football club. His team was also the most expensive, not this one. Most of our first team players this season cost a million or less (making the whole team less valuable than a player that's been playing for Palace all season), and the only ones likely to be over-paid are the three that Sven signed. I'm beginning to think that some of our fans are unhappy with our current situation simply because our owners are wealthy. We're rich, right? Why can't we just buy promotion? Well Sven tried that and failed miserably. Our owners, bless 'em, were willing to spend almost without limits. But Sven failed miserably. As far as our owners go, once bitten, twice shy. That's why they brought someone who couldn't have been any more different to Sven. A manager who isn't a big name. A young manager, yet one with some moderately notable achievements. More importantly, one who is shrewd with budgets. One that will create commodities rather than buying players at their peak for full whack. One that may just bring back some of that money wasted by Sven AND bring steady success while doing it. Our owners tried quick and dirty. It failed. Now we have someone to clean up that mess, secure a sustainable, young team AND bring success. And no matter how we got into those play-offs, we did and we were one missed penalty away from playing a beatable Palace at Wembley. Next season is the test. The way I see it, we're now back to where we were with Pearson last time just before he left. The last three years were a write-off because we let him go. Next season, if he's still here, we'll find out what we should have achieved back in 2011. Or history could repeat itself and we get rid again. One things for sure, there won't be another Sven. Even it wasn't for FFP, I don't think our owners would be that free with their money again, not until we're in the Prem anyway.
Schmeichel and Morgan is the best keeper and defender in the league. We have said that all season, several other managers have plus the players voted them as the highest ranked keeper and defender for player of the season which Matej Vydra won Both made team of the season aswell Knockaert on his day is defiantly up there with the best in the league and Wood in patches has been superb and others non effective. Still too early to judge him But you can have all the best players but it dont give you the best team. (Im not saying we do have all the best players)
I get the impression that most of the papers are getting their transfer stories from reading boards like this.
We were 3 points behind Cardiff - we ended up 20 off them. Blackpool and Middlesbro did not have one of the most expensively formed squads in the division with one ofthe highest wage bills in the division (if not the highest). As to FACTS - second in January - 3 wins in 17 after (1 in 15 far more telling) - relegation form! Yes we were in a slump after the Wycombe game - it had started before that - under a clueless manager who decided he wanted to dismantle everything the previous one had done and stuck stubbornly to his guns in doing it ... Why are there obvious man-management problems? - be serious - demoralised and demotivated players unable to get out of a slump - all their fault? - the manager absolved of any responsibility.? Bamba, Peltier, Mills, Danns, Beckford for sure - Wellens, Waghorn, Wood rumoured - I know - tough guy Nige don't take crap! ... it's a happy camp - a regular Boy Scouts Jamboree - the smiling faces, the laughter... and if there are any problems that's ALL Sven's fault LOL nothing to do with Nigel's inability to listen to anybody elses ideas or opinions... even the then club captain? You are right about one thing - we are right back where we were with Pearson before he left before - we've been outwitted tactically and outplayed in a play-off semi final. I'm glad that fills you with confidence - doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.
You are a well worthy winner of the Leicester 606 Mr Doom and Gloom award Filberto! Here is a video of a pussy getting sucked after having a good licking to brighten your mood.
