Is Samba really injured? Or could he be trying to prevent further market-value loss? Perhaps being a bit cynical.........just wondered.
I sense something too. Hope we have seen the last of the carthorse. Nelsen's departure was s huge loss, he was in a different league to Samba.
If Samba stays, and TF is indicating he will, we will see a different player next season. Will be important leader at the back that we need. Good, strong, influence in the dressing room too.
What "evidence" is there for most of the stuff spouted on here? There is an awful lot of 2 + 2 = 5 when it suits.
It makes me laugh how so many scream to get rid of some players, manager and owner after such a short space of time. It would seem Briatore syndrome rubbed off on some of our fans, did we learn nothing from his time at the club?? Replacing every player and all above just because things aren't going right is not the answer. If you sell a player after a few months because they haven't performed is madness. If we had always abided by that philosophy then we'd never have seen the likes of some of the great players and managers of the past. I'm not saying that any player will go on to be a success, but you'll never know if you don't give them a decent chance. I'm sure you could pick any player of ours from this season, put them in to an established team and they would excel. But doing what we did and changing the whole team meant all these new signings had no one to look to for stability when it all went wrong. Get rid of everyone again and we will be making the same mistakes and possibly continue to slide. Stop the rot now and keep players like Samba and we could build a team with the spirit we all desire, otherwise we could be waiting for some time.
Let's not forget that he suffers from depression. A serious condition that we shouldn't laugh at or underestimate. Mental illness, as we have seen on this forum (think of that Swansea poster), needs to be taken more seriously in this country.
Had no idea about that. But agree, no joke.......easy to fob off rich footballers, but an awful lot of pressure and stress no doubt.
When all the players come out the dressing room covered in vaseline and crying, that's all the evidence you need
Well said that man. I totally agree. My namesake didn't get off to a flying start and, more recently, neither did Paul Furlong. Both turned out to be quite useful players in their day....
I don't know if this the right thread but I must say I've been hugely disappointed in Samba after all the praise he received on the board. He'd look really silly in La Liga
