Birmingham City have released six players, including some big names, following their relegation from the Premier League. Lee Bowyer, Sebastian Larsson, Kevin Phillips, Maik Taylor, Stuart Parnaby and Martin Jiranek have all been released by the Midlands side after their contracts expired this summer. Three of the players - Bowyer, Larsson and Jiranek - played 90 minutes in the Carling Cup final victory against Arsenal this season and will most certainly be coveted by clubs after being made available on free transfers.
you would have though Phillips could have done a job in the championship still, i seen they offered Carr a new contract. That Jiranek was a right waste of money and too let him go after a year is a strange one considering they will probably lose Dann and Johnson today.
I'm amazed that Stuart Parnaby never really made his mark at Birmingham. He looked a good player when he was at Boro. Bet he ends up back there.
