Is it my maths that's wrong or can we still go down if results go against us? Please say we are safe.

Some early morning reassurance that Fulham are safe. To go down we'd need to lose by 10 goals plus however many goals Wigan would have to beat Villa by, Wigan having also beaten Arsenal and Sunderland get a point at Spurs.

This... Only "theoretically" can go down which is the scenario above. If Arsenal beat Wigan tonight it's all over.

Lost 6 out of our last 7 - the other one being a draw. I'm tired of the Jol comments...we knew it would be a tough run-in. What a crucial 6 points that was against QPR and Spurs (away). Both times the man that saved us was Schwarzer, finger tips against Zamora and the the worldy saves against Bale and Dafoe.

stop bitching, we're safe. If we beat Swansea and other results go certain ways we could finish 10th!? Look losing 5 on the bounce is awful and I know we only want to full fill the potential we know our great club has but the heads have turned to the beach, the guys are running out of steam, We need new players. Jol has done alright in the market on limited resources, we now need to give him the money we made off the D's to show what he can really do, this man bought suarez and bale! ...Everton came 17th one season and then 4th the next!
Let's look at the bright side
.- We've also got some very promising youngsters who will be coming up next season and a clean slate to start from. There's a new stand in the process, plus a new shirt sponsor to replace the dreadful kappa. Let's not forget we are debt free now too. Chins up, COYW

Thank you, Arsenal! When Wigan equalized just before the half, I admit, I was having some anxious moments, but for once, things went our way, and Wigan were well and truly dusted with a good 20 minutes to go. So, safe for another year, but there is no excuse for the poor form down the stretch. Losing 6 of 7 to get drawn into the relegation conversation when Fulham should have been challenging for a Europa League spot instead? Pathetic.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not bitching, however I am disappointed with this season especially after such a solid start to the season. Injuries played a bigger part this season than any other I can remember for a long time.

I think a lot of us are disappointed. Given that D&D both left at a point where not much could be done Jol salvaged a lot by bringing Berba, Dejagah and Kara into the team.

My frustration is mainly focused on the second half of the season after a transfer window. January transfer is not the best to buy but there was a chance to reverse some of the impact of D&D leaving. The signings were not that great apart from Enoh and Manolev.

At a crucial point we lost Dejagah as he started getting into the team and making some solid performances. Also Sidwell had started forming a good partnership with Kara. His dismissals have cost us although not visible to outsiders. Sidwell is a box to box midfielder running all the time, tackling and putting pressure on the opponent.

Another frustration lies on Jol's persistence of playing Berba and Ruiz when himself admitted that he has not managed to get a formation that suits to have both in the team. In previous years with AJ or BZ despite all their pitfalls we have been defending from up front allowing the team to re-shape and defend. This is not happening any more as neither chases back when the ball is lost.

In any case, we have seen some very good performances even with ten men (Sunderland and Arsenal two of those games). We could have more points but at the end we have the summer to rebuild and give Jol some time to think of a new formation if Ruiz and Berba are here next year.

    Come on you Whites.

Sure we're safe for this year (barely), but I don't see much reason for optimism for next year.

I haven't posted much in the last six months because I just don't enjoy watching team as much as I did the teams of the past, and rather than bitching about it every day, I've just tried to keep my mouth shut. I've been following the team for 10 years now and I think, since Roy joined the club, there's been a steady improvement in the quality of players and tactics. But I think we're in decline, now. Without the (very, very lucky) signing of Berbatov, I don't see how we could have stayed up.

Probably that is what the board is thinking if rumours are true about a fallout with Jol...

I still go back to the form we showed - before Dembele's departure, but also afterwards - in the first half of the season. If we get the right signings in the summer we can play like that again. This season has been a huge disappointment, but that doesn't mean Jol can't get it right. I hope the board give him the summer and see how next season goes. If we are struggling in November, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go, but I'm not convinced we're going to be in that position. Let's wait and see, and give our full support in the mean time.

Let's be honest lads, without Berbatov you'd just be a team of monkey-tossing, cat-slapping, fire-extinguishing homeless *****philes. Just saying like.

Monkey tossing, but certainly not cat-slapping. One must draw the line somewhere.

    What was lucky about it?

Strange, Jol was the reason he came to Fulham.

Bidley I am talking about fallout between Jol and board... Not Berba.

You're right, Bidley. Players often take big pay cuts in order to fulfil their dreams of playing at a smaller club.
