It's about time he was sacked, with the money he has had City should be dominating this league. Problem is that if a good manager comes in there and gets even half of the money Mancini had then City will do just that.
I agree given the disasters he had with players. They've SOME great players but some right donkeys too so city owners need to wake up to footballing reality and look at bayern not utd for their target. Bayern are awesome in midfield alone, city depend utterly on yaya as milner and barry and garcia are water carriers in comparison. This is fine to do what they've gone and done but to be the best in europe they need that improvement. Just cos hughes convinced them to shell out on some of these guys doesn't mean they are any good now. anyway..... the big spending rich clubs sack their managers to compete with utd... arsenal keep wenger for even more time, to not compete with utd... I have to wonder whats next seeing utd won't be "utd" next year...
in fairness to mancini he won the elague because players like silva were more fit last year. this year he's had a lot of that type of issue with his real key players, kompany, yaya, aguero, silva.... the money assembled a side but it failed to make it a team that was his job. the balotelli and tevez sagas were enough to get him the push but the CL flop was when this decision was made IMO. If they'd got RVP they would have won it, we all know that so I have to wonder what did van persie turn down?
i am guessing but he probably wanted to go to a team that would have earnt the title rather than one remembered for buying it he was never going to win feck all at Arsenal hence their players leaving and i doubt money was important to him more than trophies esp at his age.
I think City will get much better in almost every way now this clown is gone, they might start buying some decent players now instead of wasting big money on complete garbage like Barry, Milner, Lescott, Garcia, Nasri, Rodwell.
Careful now, that's just the sort of thing you expect to read on not606, Aguero being injured a fair bit has cost them dear this season, if we had Suarez out for a lot of the season we'd be even lower in the table, possibly much lower, If United had RvP out for long spells the same thing possibly and if Spurs missed Bale, Chelsea Mata... see what I mean. City's owners didn't do what United's and Chelsea's did after getting success, invest to keep it going last year after winning the league and it has impacted City's performance too. Mancini has only won the the league in 2 different top leagues, having money thrown at you doesn't instantly bring success, Chelsea didn't get the best out of their cash in the first 2 seasons, Jose came in and changed that but look at what Jose has had at his disposal at Real this season, and what has he won this season? Alas the players themselves have to take a share of the blame also, sometimes many players do not perform, it happens. Losing that FA Cup and being so many points behind United is what has cost him his job, if he lost the league by a point and won the FA cup, I don't think he would have been sacked
Lots of talk of him alienating players which is par for the course but do remember his reaction to Gerrard having a go when he held up his arm wanting one of ours carded after complaining a few days earlier about Rooney doing the same. Seem to recall his retort was along the lines of, I am the manager, you are a player, you have no right type of tone so maybe he is a bit aloof. That said I liked the guy but am sure CL non qualification didn't help even if, as it turned out, the group they were in was really strong. Final nail in the coffin was probably suggesting Suarez was player of the year, that really done him, I mean how could he....... it's fairly obvious now....he had to go!
I just moved the comments from the rival thread over but I can't choose the order of them, they are automatically sorted by time Not sure what your talking about regarding the bit in red though
So, now that Bobby Mancini is out of the frame and Pelligrini is denying any talks or agreement, and the huge buyout clause in his contract at Malaga (admittedly not a problem for Citeh), it all opens the way for a Former Liverpool manager looking for his next job. Its a good fit, he gets to annoy the Mancs and Moyes into the bargain, and he's got pedigree for winning European Silverware...
should imagine that's the job Rafa was referring to when he said he wants to stay in the prem but if not go abroad. Utd we know the new manager, Chelsea again we know who we think it will be, but doubt he will stay regardless even if Mourinhio for some reason turns it down,, Arsenal, don't think Wenger is going, so no there, Spurs have a young manager in AVB who is doing reasonably well, be silly to upset what they are doing, no other options open to him apart from City that i can see.
i knew someone would suggest that! don't see it for a few reasons, one his link to us,if he really loves us as he says, not showing much love going there is it, and 2 he wont have money to spend i doubt, also wages will certainly be an issue for him as well, i don't know Evertons wages structure but i should imagine it isn't great. Rafa is a great tactician and knows what he wants player wise, but he needs money for the quality he wants, and i doubt he would get much going there.
1) He went to Chelsea so why not Everton? Especially with his wife and kids still living in Liverpool. 2) Next season will be the first time in years that Everton have money to spend. Felliani will be leaving for at least £25m, there is a possibility that Baines could go for another £10m and then there is the new TV deal that starts from this summer giving all clubs more cash. PS...I mentioned Everton the other day to Big Bird but it may have been on the Everton board
i already answered no 1 in his supposed love for us and no money to spend going to Everton, and more importantly the wage structure he will be under. the relationship between Everton and Chelsea is dif on so many levels, Everton are like an annoying little brother that you want to give a slap now and then, but deep down there is a bond that cant be broken, Chelsea are just a bunch of pikies who won the lottery, in other words they are a nothing team and irrelevant, they lose those key and very important players, why would any one want to go there? they have done well for 2 or 3 seasons now, but they look similar in Arsenal where things start looking up and key players leave. i don't go on other boards so wouldn't have seen the thread.
I doubt he'd come to us, but it's a moot point as he'd never be offered it! Despite his CV, he could never take over at Goodison, Kenwright would be linched if he suggested it. I thought it was obvious he was giving City the 'come on' yesterday.
You lot wouldn't lynch Gentleman Bill for suggesting employing a manager who has actually won something, would you?
