Doubt it. The Allams usually like to emphasise how much they've spent, rather than the other way round. I'll be honest, I don't really care though. We got promoted, whether the Allams spent £66 million or £66.75 million, it won't change my life/views. Either way it was a masterstroke bringing Boydy in.
Assem talks things up, not down. Ipswich agreed a deal at £250k last September, so it seems likely... http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/21433/posh-chairman-unsure-on-boyds-future
Do you believe Darragh McAnthony or 'City sources'? Surely Hull fans will need to be told this type of thing?
Hows that? City always said they paid 2.6mil for Proschwitz. Who else have Hull signed and hidden the truth about the fee?
I know what you're saying, I'd just be a little concerned if our owners started lying left right and centre (if they in fact are). Yes, you're promoted now but want to know you can trust your owners going forward, especially as large sums of money are likely to be involved in your efforts to stay up.
Ha ha, sorry Gangsta but i think its desperate of you to suggest Hull fans maybe need to question the Allam's. we was just about to be served with a winding up order 3 years ago.
Desperate? I don't really care. Just a friendly word of caution. I know I like to keep my eye on the things my clubs says (or doesn't as more often seems to be the case!). Not that there's anything a single one of us can do about it if we were about to get shafted over, other than a "sack the board" rally! Still, nice to get a heads up before things go pear shaped.
Im not really sure how we got to this point to be honest lads, when have the Allam's given us any inkling we can't trust them? Was it when they saved the club? When they rejected your offers for Stewart and Koren? When they appointed Steve Bruce? When they Won Promotion two and a half seasons into there reign? Should Hull fans forget this and think them dodgy twats have lied about the loan fee for Boyd? I honestly can't see why we should question there motives, maybe its just me and other Hull fans do agree with you.
We havn't said anything like that. It's just that when it comes to transfer fees the Allams seem to deny whatever is reported.
Of course not Mike! But there's nothing wrong keeping an eye on them. Take the Koren and Stewart bids for example. Your club said our bids were derisory and we were being mischievous. No other clubs have accused us of making derisory bids since the Thais took over. And does Pearson appear the mischievous type to you? I'd say he's positively no-nonsense. The whole "we won't be doing any business with Leicester" thing was quite unprofessional too. They've done you proud financing your promotion campaign. But they would have wanted to get there for financial reasons as much as anything else. Let's hope they're sensible, professional and transparent in the way they approach keeping you up, as I'd hope ours would be too.
Prossie didn't cost £2.6M, although what clauses have been triggered to increase the fee since the initial deal is a different matter. Personally I'd consider independently audited financial reports where an inaccurate figure being given would constitute both fraud on the part of the club and negligence on the part of the auditor to be more reliable than a press release, even one released through the OWS. The more important thing right now though is what AKCJ is going to do for a username if AK leaves Leicester. It'd be odd for the Leicester mod to have a City badge in his avatar and another club's player's name in his username, especially if King joined us. In that case it'd make him look like a City fan who'd lost a bet and had to have the Leicester badge in his avatar.
He was arguably our best player in the last few games - funny how you want to keep Drinkwater in preference, who got dropped during the run-in for having 'gone missing' and will never have Andy King's goal threat. Personally I'd rather keep King - he has matured this season is getting stuck-in far more and has actually formed a decent partnership with James. Don't think it is a coincidence that there are no 'Clubs coming in for Drinkwater' headlines ...
Your problem seems to be a naive belief in media "quotes" that are then misrepresented. For a start, our chairman said he looked forward to dealing with Leicester, the inference being he'll up the price. Also, the figures in the media rarely match the actual fees or wages. So you're trusting trolls, wummers and the media. Not exactly a robust position. Your board used the previous regime to get Pearson out last time. At least ours have the guts to do their dirty work themselves.
Doubt that we will get any bids unless King himself wants to move - haven't heard anything to that end so will takes these rumours at a pinch of salt.
