    Morning Peeps,

Firstly, let me say congratulations to Watford for the lasp gasp winner (3-2 on agg) againnst the crisp munchers. Talking of which, ex muncher Matt Mills which you may remember Leicester signed from Reading for over 5m <yikes> has been linked to us. Matt Mills, 26, a central defender signed for Bolton for circa 2.2m last year, but an injury has kept him out of the squad since Christmas. If he were to join us, would he partner Lees or Pelts in the centre of defence?

Could it be an indication that we are going to sell Byram, therefor switching Pelts to his natural position; I hope not....

Good win for Norwich at the weekend; they beat West Brom 4-0, and two ex Utd players scored. Snodgrass and .........., yep, you've guessed it Howson. Its the first time in weeks that Becchio was actually given some game time, 4 whole minutes apparantly. Should we take Becchio back? Maybe a cut down figure of £400,000? Surely, he cannot have forgotten where the goal is? The other bit of information that came out of the weekend, courtosy of Boab, suggests that Howson may leave due to inconsistant performances!!! Remember, Boabs special sauce...(source)!!!

We may hear which players will be transfer listed today, and set the scene on a spending spree... You never know <ok>

Back from a week away though doubt I missed anything too drastic going on!

As for Mills, I think he's a good CB, but I also think he'd be out of our price range, unless someone like Byram is sold and the money is reinvested of course. If that is what it would take, I'd much rather hang on to Byram to be honest.

Watched the Watford game yesterday, that was a bit of a dramatic ending wasn't it?! Much happier with that result though, glad Knockhart missed the penalty as there is no way it should have been given in the first place for me. Will be watching Brighton Palace tonight as well, I think Brighton might just shade it.

Just a thought on Kasper, and I thought this when he was at Leeds as well. When Schmeichel senior got in a rage with his defenders he came across as a strong and controlling character who was bellowing commands from the back. When Kasper does it, I can't help but feel he just looks like a petulant little brat. Maybe it's because he looks so young!

The word is, Mills would be available for 1m. It would also re-unite Mills with McDermott. I'm sure we'll be linked with lots of ex Royals players

Of course Byram will be sold. Key question is how soon. If its late in transfer period then absolutely no use to us. If we're going to flog him, it needs to be in first week of transfer period to give McD time to work with what ever few bob he is given from the deal

Mills is taking a chance as he hasnt been a success for his previous two clubs. That being said McDermott knows the player and if he's available for around a mill I think thats a good bit of business. As El commented on though, does that leave the door open for Pelts to be switched to RB and Byram move on? If so, no thank you as Bryam is obviously a better RB than Pelts or Pelts would be starting there!

    However,

Would we be happy to sell Byram for 8 million and get him loaned back to us for the season? Thats 8 Million up front by the way thats to be spent on the team. Begrudgingly I would say yes I think!

Back four would be sorted with a 1 million investment Byram-Lees/Pelts-Mills-Warnock with 7 million to bolster the rest of the team.

Wont get 3 Kissa, 1.5/1.75 tops with add ons, so it would be 1 step forward, 2 back as per usual :emoticon-0101-sadsm

We would be daft to sell Byram, especially now that he's signed a long-term contract. We should be building the team around the likes of him, Lees, McCormack and the likes of Polean and Dawson coming through the ranks. One day we'll have to stop selling our best players. Now seems a good time to start.

We shouldn't sell Byram. If we were offered 8 million up front for him (and to be reinvested), then I'd change and say we should. Albeit begrudgingly, that money would be able to build a team. But, that's never going to happen, I agree that even £3 mill rising with add ons is unlikely, so no, keep hold of him!!

Afternoon all - The link with Mills worries me as it surely spells the end of Byram - A few seasons back we cried out for defenders, season after season it was always our weak spot and finally when we have a few decent ones to select from we are linked to another when it is a creative or wide pacey midfielder we need.

Apart from Byram BMD can place half a dozen players on the transfer list, yes we might lower the wage bill but we certainly are not going to build much of a war chest.
