Trumpets, you clearly say here 'current team'. We won't start next season with our 'current team'. I make sense. You don't!
but you dont as i said current squad its not our squad come the start of the season, its clearly about our current squad.
Trumpets, given the late hour I will give you the benefit of the doubt for all the confusion. Hopefully we won't end up starting next season with Wigans relegated team. Goodnight to you.
its ok mate being a smart arse just backfired on you is all and you will not take me up on that bet your all talk pal
I've just seen you've put McClean from Sunderland on your list as well. Now I know you're taking the piss. He's worse than the other clown you've mentioned.
I thought it was just me, McArthur looks so uncomfortable on the ball and Mclean just runs and kicks it out for goal kicks. They try hard, but even Hunt had better end product.
Jesus Christ guys, I'm gone for a few months and this trumpets bloke is the best you could find to replace me? What a muppet. But, to give the OP a fair answer.... You've suggested 29 players from sides in serious trouble. The first step in building a side capable of avoiding relegation is not to bring in players from sides who have failed to avoid relegation. You should only take the absolute best (note only Turner, Myhill & Hunt gained Premier League contracts after we were relegated) Al Habsi isn't a bad shout. But then, our first choice keeper is currently Jakupovic, and frankly I'd rather stick my nan in goal than him. I'm not going to list everyone, but there is precious little that we could really take from Wigan. Figeuroa is a possibility, the rest offer either nothing better than our current options (most of the list) and the remaining players (McCarthy, McCarthur, Kone) will be out of our price range. Not to mention that we're already pretty deep in central midfield. As for Reading, only really Le Fondre stands out for me. Robson-Kanu has been linked with clubs as high up as Arsenal. Karacan's a good player, but again depth is central midfield is the least of our worries. Kebe is a diving little prick. Pogrebnyak is getting paid. A lot. QPR aren't all that overpaid, it's been grossly exaggerated in the media. I'd take Jamie Mackie, but I expect him to stick with them. Sunderland probably won't go down, but I'm not sure I'd be looking at anyone on that list. Mignolet is looking likely increasingly likely to be Liverpool-bound. Do the likes of O'Shea, Cattermole etc really offer much improvement? Cattermole is one dirty ****er, I've seen it first hand this season. Adam Johnson & Sessegnon are obviously good players, but realistically.... no. Even Fletcher & Graham would require unrealistic transfer fees.. and Graham's Sunderland form hardly inspires confidence anyway. I'm sure you'll jump to the defensive stance of "I'm not talking about who we're getting or who we might go for" but frankly, if you're going to attempt to discuss unrealistic players, well... why bother? We might as well talk about whether Gerard Pique would improve our back line.
Out of the three sides in the relegation spots the only ones I woud take are Kone, McManaman and Maloney.
Kone, Maloney, McManaman, Scharner. (Wigan) Townsend (on loan at DQPR) Le Fondre, Robson-Kanu (Reading). Obviously not sign all of them, but I would be quite happy seeing any of these join City.
If anyone thinks that we are going to raid any club for players, they are going to be posting despairing comments for quite a while. We will concentrate on the squad that we have and will only fill gaps in the two players position rule. First loans will be converted into transfers. Then 1 Keeper 1 Defender 1 Striker Except for the loan players like Elmo, no one we sign will be from the PL, or even the English Leagues. I doubt that our total spend this summer will be anymore than 16m The biggest change you will see at the KC will be the pitch! I may be totally wrong, but actually I'm going by what Bruce has said.
James McLean, the most fantastic footballing talent I've ever seen. So good he kept elmohamady out their side.
I'd only look at Wigan. McManaman, Maloney, Figueroa and Kone. McManaman and Kone specifically. What about Sunderland or Villa if Wigan pull off the unthinkable/usual(for them)?
