Still, what a hopeless performance, not worthy of staying up really, but alas...

 

Obviously delighted we're staying up, but based on that performance we deserved to go down.

 

Thank God we didn't. Last time we had a core of English players who fought to get us back up again. If we'd gone down this time, it would have completely ripped the squad apart. We'd have sold about 2/3rds of the players as they wouldn't want to be here.

Now we can at least take a breath, assess the situation, make changes and build the club back up.

 

The entire organization needs a good, thorough review..the error of not investing last summer, the amount of injuries..particualry ham-string ones, the only turn up for one half of the game, compared to teams around and about us a squad that is full of talent and ability(as we saw last season).
I never believed this season would see us top 4-5-6 though... thought it would be a season of consolidation and 'sensible' growth.. a top 10 finish was expected... and foundations set for a push up the league ..

This season has been ..appalling in the league (euros were ok/good).

Summat is definatley wrong atm and has been all season ..and it needs sorting NOW and in the next couple of months..

Good post! agree with all those points.

I also thought top 10. Although it's actually possible we still could, even if we did sneak into 10th with an unexpected victory over Arsenal, it wouldn't be the kind of 'consolidation' I was expecting. Been absolutely pi$$ poor most of the season.

No need to apologise ACS, I think the drinks may be flowing tonight. Seems strange to be 'celebrating' being in 13th, but it feels like a celebration after this season.

 

He's just taken out the whole of Scandinavia with his flooding. Russia is on red alert.

 

We clung on in the second half, what on earth does Pardew say at half time, the team seem somewhat underwhelmed, and definitely uninspired!
