Am i the only one who would still prefer schlupp in this position tomo, even if konchesky is fit? I no schlupp makes alot of obvious mistakes back there when defending, he can be far too casual! But at least he takes risks, and him and dyer down the left really complement each other! Its not as if konchesky sits back, he's always forward (which i love) but he's not as attacking minded. He also gives the ball away ALOT! Not even taking risks, just stupid simple passes! COYF

Watford will see Schlupp as a weakness, either Pearson trusts him to have a better game (when he filled in for Konch earlier on in the season he was brilliant, lets hope he can give one of those performances on Sun), or we swap Konch back in imo.
I think Schlupp was fine apart from two missed clearances. Don't think he's worse than Koncheskey, especially because Schlupp and Dyer as an attacking duo keeps Anya pegged back. Attack being the best form of defence and all that.
Schlupp pace along with Dyer ahead of him will cause Watford problems and make them think about commiting Anya forward as much. Anya was nowhere near as influential on Thursday as he was the other week
I don't get the Konchesky bashing on this board, he's the best left back at this club. If he's fit, he plays, Schlupp is always a useful attacking option from the bench. We're going to need to be more defensive.
I agree, but that's not to say that Schlupp isn't a capable fullback. On performances I'd like to see Schlupp moved up top and Konch bought back in, with Wood dropped. This is unlikely though as I suspect that we'll be hitting direct balls all afternoon to break up the inevitable pressure. It would be a ballsy move though and one that would force us to play football against a side that I think aren't that great at the back.
Schlupp might be prone to the occasional mistake but unlike Konch he is quick enough to recover the situation so against Anya its a no contest for me.
Koch needs to play and keep schlupp on the bench to replace dyer. This could be a very long game if extra time happens, and bringing him on later against tired legs
