Not entirely accurate as global economics dictate that we import all of the tartan tins we sell the shortbread in from china which slashes the profit margin. Added to that for a double dip economic storm whammy fiasco is the currently hushed up scandal of miners dropping dead from Pulmonary Infarct Shortbread Syndrome. Compensation claims will cripple the industry.
Sorry I missed this. Good point, and I think you will agree that your point is driven by the fact that there are a lot more opportunities in the south of England, where you live, than most other parts of the UK - it's why there has been one way migration there from other parts of the UK for about a century - it's also why the United Kingdom as it stands does not work.
Debating the vagaries of Muslims in the pub. We have decided, move the jocks into England move the mussys to Scotland then vote independence. .
The UK - and possibly the whole world - would still be agricultural if it wasn't for the Northern cities of Glasgow and Manchester. No industrial revolution means no modernisation.
Last time I was up north, it looked pretty ****ing agricultural to me. Full of yokels with funny accents anyway.
Where I grew up was ****e, I wouldn't be advocating change if my experience wasn't one of abysmal ****e - and I know that if you were to throw away your visceral sense of Britishness you would also agree that the status-quo in Glasgow is quite ****e.
Glasgow is far from ****e. It's the best city in the UK in my opinion. Say what you want about the pond life who live in the suburbs (mainly taigs I might add) but the city as a whole is top notch. Please don't compare bombfast to Glasgow mikey.
