Would not be surprised if they end up topping us in the League this time next year. IF any of their better players go, they wont go for peanuts, especially Baines as there will be the "British Player Tax". Depending on who comes in, there could be very shrewd dealings or absolute cock-ups. Everton's biggest problem is Kenwright. Will he support his new manager in the window? I think not.

Why have you even made this thread? They are completely irrelevant to us, they will pose absolutely no threat to us at all next season. They will return to battling for mid-table inferiority now that they have lost their stability. It took Moyes 10 years to turn them into an effective side, and he had to abandon all of his morals by influencing referees and encouraging hoofball and thuggery to get there. They will return to being the garbage no nothing side that we pick up an easy six points from every year. I expect them to get off to a poor start before the usual end of season revival which leads to their delusional fans thinking that they are going to conquer Europe the next season despite finishing a lowly eleventh. Pitiful club.

No bitterness on my part kid I just grew up as a Liverpool fan in Liverpool so I much prefer to banter with you lot, half my mates are bitters so I know the score (we all know you'll always be the bitters mainly because it winds you up so much) <ok>

I have no idea if you'll struggle or not, as I've said I'm just hoping <laugh>

As with any club, a change of manager can bring a change of fortunes whether good or bad. The problem is most new managers need to invest to get the squad that suits them. How much will there be to invest other than what you get for any players that leave? Even then that's only filling gaps not improving the squad. So it's not a wild assumption than you may well slide is it Tobes, we all accept that Moyes has done a good job and got more out of the current squad than many would. He definitely seems to have built up a lot of loyalty from the players to the club and you know as well as I do how quickly that loyalty and team spirit can disappear quickly when a new manager comes in.

What I can't see (and this isn't wumming) is who will come in and get EVEN more out of the squad so I don't see how you move forward without either a manager who's amazing at both motivation and buying to a budget (better than Moyes) or a decent amount of investment. I can't see the latter and the former is a big ask. So how exactly do you move forward? Who's got that sort of C.V. to put in front of Captain Luvvy and say giz a job Bill?

I can see what you're saying and you're right there will be challenging times ahead and as for who?? Gimme a chance I haven't filled my application form In yet <cheers>

I am glad Laudrup has ruled himself out as I'd rather others tbh and maybe Dragonphiljack can get back to wumming you lot for pinching Rodgers lol

You would have done well with Laudrup not least because he has a name and a style that many players would be attracted by. Will Mackay (for example) be able to attract those kinds of players? Not a chance, certainly not straight away anyway. None of this means you will go backwards but it certainly means you will struggle to move forward for a good few seasons.

For the record....I think we have a similar problem but for now at least we still have some funds and a big reputation as a club where players can compete for trophies. You lot really could have done with that cup final appearance this year.

This is a problem though, as our 'brand' is diminishing with each year without CL football. Apart from a couple of players, we have no pull in terms of a big manager name, no big name DOF etc.

I think it is fair to say that they are. They have a better team, better players, a better manager, a better stadium, they have won more trophies in the last 18 years and will be playing European football next season, unlike Everton.

I shouldn't even be giving you the pleasure of a response after you used the word "lad". But I am glad that you agree with me. It is good to see that you are not wrapped up in a sea of your own delusions.

I totally agree and it will get worse once Gerrard stops playing and Suarez buggers off unless we replace them with top quality....<doh> but for now let's not worry about that and just concentrate on winding up the bluenoses <laugh>

Tobes now says we got rebuked by Martinez but at the start of the season he was saying Martinez was by far the better manager<laugh>

As for this thread, surprised it is still going, I don't really care where Everton finish, if I was from Liverpool I would say I would care but I'm not, the mersey rivalry means **** all to me really, how could I get it, I am not a scouser.

It's first or fk it, the CL is nice for the club cash wise and I do enjoy the tourney and the games but fk me it's a cup, the league is what its about, not the 4th place cup but of course with it all being fkn money many are happy winning the 4th place cup, Arsenal springs to mind, happy to just qualify for Europe every year and pick up all the dosh for the share holders.

the last time I really enjoyed a season to the end was 2009, a far better season than 2005 or 2007 by a ****ing mile, right in it till the end!

Moyes roots ran deep at everton, there will be a huge fallout from his leaving, make no mistake

What an absolutely dreadful attitude to have. Qualifying for the Champions League is an absolutely fantastic achievement, it is far greater than winning a League Cup or an FA Cup. Arsenal have been far more successful than Liverpool since 2005 without winning a trophy simply by being a Champions League Club. This is why anyone over the age of thirty should be banned from supporting football clubs. #ForModernFootball.

Dreadful<laugh> a bit strong. I preferred it when it was just champions tbh. It's lessened ambition to win the league if you ask me and ruined international football
