Although United's official stance on Rooney is "not for sale", apparently that's not the case and he'll be part of a mini clear-out this summer, which also includes Anderson and Nani.

Would any of us really be disappointed to see all 3 go? Anderson and Nani haven't been good enough, whereas it's patently clear that Rooney's best days are long gone.

Clear out the dead wood, and rejuvenate central midfield and the flanks <ok>

Would be a bit disappointed if Rooney left without the new manager even trying to work with him. I still think he has a lot to offer, and a new manager could help him rediscover his best form. Moyes may also be more willing to bring in new CMs which would allow Rooney to play a more attacking role.

Like I said in the other thread, I think Moyes will take a bit of time with Rooney, look to make a couple of signings first, and then decide whether Rooney will fit into his team, and whether he's comfortable working with him.

Anderson and Nani can **** off and never look back imo.

The last thing we need imo is someone like Rooney making things even more difficult for Moyes and underwhelming him. If Rooney tries it on with Fergie, then he'll no doubt try it on with the new man.

He obviously doesn't want to be here, and has made it very clear he never has ever since the first fallout a couple of seasons ago. His best days are behind him, I don't think anyone would deny that. His fitness is a major issue with his poor lifestyle. He's the highest paid player at the club, but is no way the best and he's shown that this season.

I wouldn't miss him. He's never really fulfilled his enormous potential for me. Very good player yes, world class? You need consistency to be the very best. He doesn't have it.

tbh the 3 had become too inconsistent, time to move on
there was some tension before between Rooney and moyes which will not help the case of him staying
but if anyone paid 40m+, i will be more than happy to sell Rooney

The player I'm worried about leaving is Hernandez. He has scored so many vital goals already and is a born goal poacher... a hard player to come by. I think he deserves more game time than he is getting and am worried that he will feel he deserves more first team action and go elsewhere to find it.

Maybe not, but he was 2 years on his contract left so I hope the club just rejects any offers with a value of less than the suggested £40m. If someone comes in with that sort of money let him go. If not, then he'll stay.

Players I can see leaving: Scholes, Fletcher (sadly see him retiring), Anderson, Nani, Rooney (tbh getting pissed off at him) and possibly even Young.

Players I wouldn't mind from Everton if we cruel enough to raid them further <laugh>: Mirallas, Baines, Barkley and Fellaini,
