I think the stand out one will always be Jermaine Defoe, asking for a transfer before the ref had even blew bloody the whistle at West Ham, but a couple others have appeared this week. First off, we have the shockingly good news that Fergie wants to play horses with Micheal Owen so will be relinquishing control at the red end of Manchester. But as that wave is breaking we hear news that Rooney is unhappy, & has decided its the right time for him to move from Utd, this three days before he along with some excited team mates gets to pick up the Premier League trophy in front of 70,000 fans, & start a nice little party that is due to go on for some time.....hell Van Persie has already picked out the large photo frame to go above his mantel piece, he may well need to photoshop Wayne (the miserable git) out of it straight away! Then on the less warm side of the second capital we have the distressed Costel Pantilimon. Poor poor Costel, he desperately wanted to play against West Brom in the week, but yet, all the gaffer can offer him is some cheap cup final in front of untold millions at the weekend, so he has decided to follow his toys from the pram & will be playing elsewhere next season. (As a young keeper, who does look rather good, I can see why he wants to play every week, but bad bad timing once again) So, as I look out at my rain soaked window, wondering about my bad timing, I burned the Mrs's dinner this evening...oopps, I know deep down, its really not that bad at all, and who's going to know.....other than her?
Two weeks ago, oh I never knew that, I take it all back, he should not even be in this mess, he should be in sunny Spain already.
The words "unfair" and "Rooney" should never be used in the same sentence if describing prattish behaviour.
Well i agree he doesn't have much grounds for complaint but you seemed to be suggesting it was bad timing asking just after Ferguson announced his retirement, and that's not what he did.
Rooney has been constantly played out of position and is obviously behind RVP in the pecking order. I don't blame him for wanting to leave.
Me neither. But, if I were him, I'd do the whole celebrating the title with fans, end season, then say I want out. Unreasonable, well that's how I roll.
Being left on the bench instead of Welbeck for the 2nd leg against Madrid is what's annoyed him most I reckon. Particularly after being shoved right midfield in the first leg.
He needs to get off his high horse if you ask me. Throwing a strop once is bad enough but twice is too far. Moreover his 1st strop got him 200,000 a week AND Sir Alex signed better players (which is apparently what Rooney was asking for) and now these better players have taken his spot in the starting 11 he can't take it and has to leave!
Surely Mr Rooney must have a fleet of agents and advisors who "help" him to engineer these kinds of moves. Taking a cut off the top of course.
Rooney should write a book called 'how to endear yourself to the fans' saying how happy he is at Man U except when he is not allowed to play for England or others are paid more, or he is substituted or Welbeck starts ahead of him or van Persie is selected ahead of him...
I agree. I'm actually ashamed of how much I dislike the over-rated little pug faced tosspot. But he deserves every bad thing that happens to him, and none of the good.
Exactly this. Wanted them to buy better players, and one of them has taken his spot in the team. Tough luck sunshine.
Rooney should remember to be carefull for what he wishes for. He wanted better players to join the club but wasn't counting on one in his position. I can understand his frustrations though, although he does a job playing in the middle he believes his best position is up front and he is a wasted comodity. I remember last year Mark Cavendish used Rooney as an analagy with regards to his role in the Sky TDF team. He likened him being a domestique to Wiggins as Rooney playing centre half in that you don't waste that quality in a back seat supporting role. Maybe Fergie saw those comments and it gave him an idea!! Cavendish moved on and is having a great season in cycling so it may not be a bad thing for Rooney to do the same. Move somewhere where the team will be built round him and we just might see a better Rooney all round and in an England shirt.
Does this not have more to do with the appointment of Moyes? I thought they fell out when he left Everton, now he is to be new gaffer at United and Rooney wants out.
