Keith Burt is our DOF?

A good appointment - I hope.

We have been absolutely woeful at both PR and marketing for years. If you recall some of the **** that Sexstone used to come out with it makes you shudde.

A professional club needs professional people in it, not rank amateurs like we've put up with.

 

Important the DOF and the Head Coach (or Manager) get on - these 2 obviously do

 

If we are 10 points clear by Christmas, would anyone care...?

 

Do you expect a DOF to have the charisma of paolo di canio? Even if he did, you'd never see it

Of course you hope your manager has the charisma of PDC.. I think SOD is just a mirror image of him personally..

Wishful thinking. We finished bottom by a significant margin last season. I'd consider play-off positions by Christmas a success.

This has the potential to work - surely it can't be much worse than the scouting & recruitment setup we've had in the past few years? SoD and Burt have worked together at Forest, and Burt clearly has the experience and contacts, so on paper it looks promising. Let's hope that in his time at Forest, Burt build up good contacts in the lower & non-leagues.

As for our start next season, given the massive rebuilding of the squad that's needed, I'd be happy to see us comfortably in the top 10 and on the fringe of the play-off positions by Christmas. Anything more than that would be a bonus I think. L1 is no walkover, as we well know from our recent long spells in it.

 

I agree I think it will be a good partnership. Can imagine SOD isn't the easiest person for our board to communicate with so a man in the middle will make it a lot easier for everyone. Plus we haven't just got anybody in to do it we have an experienced man and someone who has been a success. He knows SOD personally so everything seems good. Lets hope it works out and we can have a good season ahead
