Stop being a racist, we are a lovely bunch of people. Sure we like to shag the odd sheep now and again. But you English are weirder you eat them after we've done that

Welcome WCR from one old fart to another, as that young **** shiny said, " WELCOME" and thanks for continuing to make us a global force, don't feel isolated anymore and remember, we are all in it together....
Greetings from Chicago. An older City fan here, saw my first match in 1967 away at Cardiff, and my most recent match was the defeat at Barnsley last Sept, shortly before I emigrated to Chicago. Although born in Bristol and raised locally, I have lived away from the West Country - going to in Africa in 73, then Sussex, and most recently in Leeds from 1992-2012 - for most of my life, and so have never been a season ticket holder or anything. But I have always had family in/near Bristol, so attended several home games per season from the early 80's (going back to the dark 4th Division days and earlier) to this past season, and of course most of the away matches every season near where I lived (in Sussex it was Brighton, Palace & the London clubs; up in Leeds it was always Hudds, Barnsley, Sheffs, Burnley, Leeds, York, Hull etc etc). Have always been passionate about my team, still buy the shirts (except last seasons crap red/black thing), and since moving to Chicago I've had to rely on BBC website text commentary to keep me updated, plus of course ThisisBristol etc. Have read the forums on 606 and then Not606 for years, but just never got around to joining. But I'm feeling somewhat isolated from "home" and finally taken the plunge. Sad, frustrated and angry about this past season and relegation, but truth be told, it's been on the cards for a couple of years. I can only hope SoD really does have the nous to turn things around in L1, I'd hoped he would have achieved more from the players in the 20 games he's had. Ok, I'll stop writing now, and please excuse the boring ramble from an old fart! But it's nice to finally be here and to join the few other expat City fans like InvermereMike, Cidered Abroad etc in showing that our club is loyally followed from wherever in the world life has taken us! This is from WindyCityRobin, A new member, You may not be able to see him as his message is being monitored due to him being a new member, When he comments a bit more you'll be able to see his comments
Welcome WindyCityRobin; You can now join us other old buggars who for a variety of reasons have never found enough sense to stop wasting our time, money, patience, etc on the boys in red at Ashton Gate. and last seasons kit was the worst I've ever seen - matched the football didn't it? PS; you have a near neighbour in Invermere Mike. Pop over to see him sometime. He lives in British Columbia. and there is also one in Tampa Bay. Is that close to you?
Thanks for the welcome. And yes, despite all logic I've continued to spend money and time on City for 45 years now. As for my near neighbours, Mike in BC is not quite "just down the road", though I've been in his neck of the woods 3-4 times and it's beautiful up there. Was down in Tampa Bay on my honeymoon back in Dec, though that's hardly "just around the corner" either. A bit further than BS3 to Weston Super Mare! Anyway, nice to be the City fan "in the middle" as it were (West Coast, Midwest, East Coast), and I hope to be able to add some useful comments in the future.
It is great to have you signed up Windy If there is anything you need help with just ask one of the MOD's, Being myself, Wizered or Angelic. Don't be shy and get involved
