Seems like we have been talking about him for a while now, and maybe it's not as concluded as we think.

David Vaughan has admitted he was attracted by a possible move to Rangers after confirming talks had opened with the Ibrox club.

The Wales midfielder - a second-half substitute in their 3-1 defeat to Scotland on Wednesday night - is a free agent after his Blackpool contract expired.

Sportsmail reported earlier this month that the 28-year-old, renowned for his dynamic style, was a leading target of new Rangers boss Ally McCoist after being tracked by his scouting team.

Sunderland are leading a group of clubs anxious to keep Vaughan in the Barclays Premier League next season, but the player made it clear he is open to the idea of continuing his career in Glasgow.
'I know my agent has spoken to Rangers, so I just have to take it from there and leave it in his hands,' said Vaughan.
'Would a move to Scotland interest me? Yeah, definitely. Obviously Rangers are a massive club in Scotland and they play in the Champions League, so it's an attraction.

'But I have just got to weigh up all my options and see where it takes me.'

Good player for a free but wouldn't be too concerned if we didn't sign him. There are better options about (although not for a free!)

I'm not convinced that there are a lot better options for us than Vaughan even at 4-5M.
