Just been confirmed by their Twitter feed, so he will sign for Utd today I think.

But will Laudrup be interested in a sideways move to a club that is a good one, but has little more money than us to do things?

good to see your optimism NJ, & i think you may be right on this, but jeez it would be good to actually finish a season before the vulture's start circling over our manager

SWANSEA City today insisted they have heard nothing from Everton about Michael Laudrup – and are convinced the Dane will not leave for Goodison Park even if there is an official approach.
Laudrup is being touted as one of the leading contenders to take the reins at Everton as David Moyes prepares to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

But Swansea’s hierarchy are confident their manager would not be interested in a move to Merseyside.
There is also the issue of compensation, with Laudrup’s release clause at Swansea thought to be in the region of £10 million.

It is doubtful whether Everton, who are likely to lose Moyes for nothing as his contract is up this summer, would be willing or able to stump up that sort of money.
Laudrup penned a new deal with Swansea in March which ties him to the club for the next two seasons, and chairman Huw Jenkins is unconcerned about the Everton links.
“Michael has made it clear he is not looking to move on,” Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post.
“He is doing a job he loves doing and he is happy here. He is different from some managers. He is not on the ladder to try to get the top.”
Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is the bookmakers’ favourite to succeed Moyes, though the former Swansea manager insisted today that this is not the moment to talk about his future.
The Latics face Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday before they attempt to dodge the drop to the Championship next week.
Laudrup is also well fancied by the bookies along with Celtic manager Neil Lennon. The likes of Phil Neville, Steve Clarke, Mark Hughes and Rafael Benitez have also been mentioned as candidates to take charge of Everton.

..oh yes forgot the compo arrangement!! Everton aint paying 10m quid for Laudrup, they don't really pay £10m for anyone! the reason the clause was put into place was to give us more security, the reason Laudrup extended his deal was also to with giving us security, it was more to do with us than him, he is happy in Swansea,so is his wife ,of course he will probably leave in a year or two but the bloke has integrity...always had in fact, we don't need to worry ourselves on any of this and in fact it should be treated as a joke more than anything!!

Laudrup and Larsen are extremely desperate to do well for Swansea, ive been told this by somebody who had a conversation with Larsen, its the first time they have had total control of team affairs and the first time they have been given a decent budget to work with and had total support from the board, they feel they can improve Swansea and the aim is to repay the faith shown on them ,thats why Laudrup agreed to extend and insert a clause at our request.

Money isn't the main motivation either, the main motivation is building/repairing Laudrups reputation as a coach/manager , his agent is heavily involved in securing/negotiating players to bolster Swansea and Laudrup, success here will mean he will eventually have the reputation to walk into any job he wants...if he wants it! this is the long term for laudrup, its about securing the best conditions for him and repairing his patchy track record.

He isn't going anywhere at all, and if what im hearing is correct the summer is going to throw up a couple of suprises, the guy is ruthless enough to succeed and the guy backing him is even more ruthless and desperate for him to succeed, its giving us a major negotiator in the Spanish game and Swansea city will reap the rewards.....time to suck it up and enjoy the ride folks!

So apart from our board we have a few influential people looking to help us and our manager do well, everything that Laudrup needs is in Swansea and on the Gower,he gets zero stress, nearly zero hassle from fans and a warm welcome everywhere he and his wife go, he has ambitions and a lot of them are here but the long term goal is that he will move on to better things..if he feels he wants it.

Nothing to worry about at all <ok>

Did anyone see Whelan's comments? He said Martinez wouldn't join Everton because they are not a big club.

Mr Whelan is deluded, Martinez would jump at the chance to manage a Premier League club instead of managing in the Championship! We all know that from first hand experience!

United just confirmed him as manager on a six year deal. Good decision in my opinion, and justifiably deserved after the work he's done at Everton <ok>

Got to think Fellaini and Baines will go. They've been after Baines for a while. Maybe Jagielka too.

Good for Moyes, bloody hell a sensible appointment in football. some Man Utd fans pointing to the fact that he hasn't won anything in 11 years. Erm, that's because fergie has been busy winning everything! Doh!!!
Isn't it amazing though that the bombshell that is SAF retiring is mostly because... he is actually retiring, most get sacked long before they are old enough to retire!

I do love your witty comments Dragon <ok>

Strange how we haven't seen Dai since the Man city draw and the Wigan win isn't it ? im very relaxed about the Laudrup rumours tbh. I noticed over on planet swans one poster mentioned that BBC wales run the story on Laudrup going to Everton but failed to mention that their own malky is also in the running and even shorter odds for the job, the destabilising begins my fellow Jacks <ok>

I don't doubt that for one minute from the Bluebird Broadcasting Corp, I notice they have been slagging us off, from their little bus tops! Monk has the measure of them though, and so will Laudrup next season! Hell I can't wait to see those redtits languishing at the bottom of the table next season............<cheers>
