After reading an article in DM, the bookies have slashed the odds on Moyes becoming the new boss, with him working under Ferguson for a season as his No2 to learn the structure of the club. It brings into question just who will become the new boss, Moyes, Jóse, Guardiola, Klopp, Solskjear etc etc, Obviously he isn't retiring now and he has a Legacy that will probably never be surpassed but someone has to so just who?
As I've already posted somewhere, my reporter mate reckons Klopp is nailed on, especially when the owners dismantle and sell the team he's built up to potentially win the CL. I'd much prefer you to take Moyes out of the two
Really? I thought he was going to Chelsea? As for Moyes, there's no way he'll be a 'No. 2' at OT until Ferguson decides to call it a day. Laughable story, that's suckered in a few on the betting exchanges, that are so small for his kind market, that even a relatively small amount of cash has a massive impact on the odds - ergo they slide & people foolishly think that it's 'nailed on'
Jose: Going to Chelsea, Rafa droped the hint today Pep: Bayern Munich Ole: that would be a huge risk even though he is a club legend Moyes: Very experienced manager and a move to us will give him the best chance of winning at Anfield Klopp: Good manager on the verge of winning the CL, my choice
Ole would be my favorite choice for a few reasons. 1). He knows the ins and outs of club, and Fergie already speaks highly of him as manager. Apparently Ole took notes about training when he was player, because even during his playing career he knew he wanted to be a manager. This will give him an advantage of how United's success was built on the training ground. 2). He loves the club, and the club loves him back, so it would just be another job for him, it would be his dream job. 3). He's already had success at Molde, he's been there 2 years and won the league twice with a club that had never won the league (Molde were a mid table team when he took over I believe). He seems like a high risk high reward candidate, but I think he's the natural successor to Sir Alex.
He'd improve your record in Europe, and he's good at rotation which is exactly how Man Utd won the league this year...
I'd like you to be the next United manager. You could select the team based on a camp Rep! system. If players are mean to you during training you can teach them a lesson by neg Repping! them. I reckon it could be revolutionary and change the face of football management. Go for it Astro. You have my vote and my Rep! Moyes could replace BR at Liverpool and improve your league position but why would he take a step down, that would be neg Rep!?
Telegraph Sport ‏@TelegraphSport 1m Alex Ferguson is understood to be giving serious consideration to ending his 26-year reign as Manchester United manager. More follows #mufc
Any way of getting a poll going? I'm not overly keen on Moyes tbh, but wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if he did get it. Solskjaer would be my pick but I fear it might a bit too soon in his career (that and my hopes of him having a Guardiola-esque impact might be misplaced). Jose is a great man manager but his tea so play boring (albeit effective) football. He's also made no secret of his admiration for Fergie and his desire to manage United one day. The reaction of Chelsea fans alone would justify making a move for him. He also has a history of only sticking around for 3 years so maybe him with Ole as his assistant? Don't know much about Klopp, but he's done wonders at Dortmund. All in all, the future looks bright.
