I'll add Sunderland's support to this.

I know a few of our lads got on your tits earlier in the season, may even have been last, but believe me lads, the solid majority of us are realists with nothing but utter respect for what you've achieved, believe me, we watch in awe that you get up, get top 10, win a cup, after we've spent millions and had a team not 10% as easy on the eye.

How have you been playing since the cup win? Lads still up for it? Or a few 'on the beach'?

Player for player, you are better in every department, but that's never how these games graft out.

All the best lads, we are the team that are realistically safe if you win, due the superior goal difference, so tell me one of your songs and I'll get it going in Sunderland and get it on you tube for your entertainment, haha.

And we were singing
Hymns and Arias,
Land of my Fathers,
Ar hyd y nos

you tube "Max Boyce - Hymns and Arias" for the tune. We only sing the chorus at the footie.

Swansea oh Swansea
Oh City say I...
Standing on the North Bank until the day I die.
So take me to the Vetch field
way down by the sea,
and I will follow Swansea
Swansea City

That's probably on you tube somewhere as well.

Good luck!

If this happens (and if you use Twitter) fancy tweeting me a link? I'm sure Swansea fans would love seeing a load of Mackem's singing a Welsh terrace classic! Respect.

Sure mate, this will depend on you being in front, a portion into the game, but I will make it happen if it pans that way.

Hell seems a lot riding on this game of ours tonight! Toon, Mackem's, Canaries!................<laugh>

PS: If it's any consolation, I have a good feeling about tonights game, and we need a win to finish this season on a high, and no doubt Laudrup will target this game for a definite 3 points, so 'Slick Willy from Santander' is on his way out!................

Off topic of the game lads, must be incredible for you lot the way things have gone.

I remember you having problems at the Vetch and being nearly a gonner, now top team in Wales, top 10 in one of the big 3, a trophy, Europe, tidy stadium, you must be pinching yourselves.

I have long admired Laudrup, I split time between the UK and Spain and had a massive soft spot for his Getafe team, they had no money, few fans, and they got UEFA, were cruelly denied a place in final by Bayern.

Played stunning football, and won me a fortune on bets as I kept getting big odds on them, I even bought a pendant from their website, haha.

To be where you are, without spending huge sums, is incredible, and you have a real tasty derby next year to boot.

I won't deny my envy, being one of the 40k that has tried forever to drag my club above mediocrity with unconditional love & support!

Paolo it's been an incredible journey mate, but it hasn't finished, and it's down to our Board of Directors who are all true supporters, and the fact that we fans have a 20% stake on the board in our Supporters trust, keeps things grounded well, so that's where the philosophy starts in our Boardroom, and long may it continue!...............<cheers>

And Swansea are not mathematically safe yet. And Laudrup will be a king in the north east if Swansea win tonight!.

Swansea are mathematically safe already. There are several teams below us on 38 points that will be playing each other so they all can't get to 43 points.

Michu pulled up Saturday he deffo won't play.

I reckon if we win then on the weekend the fans of Norwich, Sunderland and Newcastle should be heard to sing "we love you Swansea we do" in their games for us to hear it on MOTD :D

But manager Michael Laudrup remains upbeat about his side: “I have to be pleased. One more win should now see us finish in the top half and that would be a fantastic achievement.” and Ashley Williams has stated that we have to be up for this game, if we don't want to "end the season on a sour note" so I'm going against the form table after holding Citeh to a goalless draw, and Wigan will be without Jean Beausejour for tonight’s game, a Swansea win for me, 2-0

Swansea midfielder Leon Britton says his club will be doing Wigan boss Roberto Martinez no favours at the DW Stadium tonight. "There are a lot of people there with links to Swansea so it would be strange if we got a result that dented their survival hopes. But we have to try to get a win."...........<cheers>
