I live in London but I can only justify travelling to Hull every other week if I can work on the train. I was thinking of joining the Premier Club or Ambassador Club. I don't think I'd want to commit to a proper meal every match so the Premier Club should suit me. Could I recharge my laptop? I'd be happy going to the fish shop from the city centre to the ground but I'd like to be able to sit down while eating at least sometimes. What's the Premier Club like?
I think you might have a job getting into the Premier Club, they've capped the membership at 700 and it's now full. They're now just putting people on a waiting list and if anyone doesn't renew at the end of next season, then the seats will be made available(season tickets are normally for five years, but they're up for renewal at the end of next season).
Maybe the club will think again about what they offer in terms of hospitality because they should try to make as much money as possible. I'm getting on now and I don't want to be standing a long time - I don't mind standing during matches because of the tension but it's good to sit down and eat before the football but I don't want a 4 course meal every match.
Whats wrong with a normal season pass? If your not bothered about the meal or a parking space why spend the extra on the others? If it's purely to charge your laptop, the trains have sockets or at the very least buy a spare battery.
There's a limit to how much the club can do, the bar already has trouble coping with the 700 members that are already in there, most of whom are actually standing, as the tables are for diners only(so if you wanted to sit down, you'd still have to have a meal).
That's exactly what they are doing/have done by limiting the Premier Club to 700. They can now sell the rest of the seats in the corporate area as part of packages at a nice premium price which include meals etc thus making more money, as there are many premier club members that probably spend very little in the bars, buying food etc and just turn up for the match.
Not sure quite why anyone would want to join one of these anyway? It completely kills the match day experience, for me.
Parking right next to the ground and not freezing my bollocks off on the concourse in the middle of winter are two reasons. Being able to watch the last fifteen minutes of Watford v Leeds was also rather handy.
Freezing in winter is part of the 'Winter' experience!! I've had the Premier Club equivalent at the Stadium of Light and Old Trafford, they're definitely an acquired taste!!
I've never been corporate at the SoL, but ours is nothing like Old Trafford's, which is a complete bag of ****e.
