what? who the **** are you? I played the game at a very competitive level. and as a very active, robust midfielder I have a pretty good idea what goes through your mind. He doesn't play the ball, pal. and he does not duck out of it. I ALWAYS played the ball and if I took the man with the ball, I took the man too. but I never aimed a tackle above the ball and at a players legs, full stood showing. If you think that was an acceptable challenge, then i hope you no longer play the game. or go to spec savers.
So you always played the ball and never made a mistake, so which premiership team did you play for? Anyway, my point was not that the incident was or wasn't a red card but that it was another example of the appalling inconsistency of top flight refereeing.
true tell you what charlie didnt lay there grinning at the crowd did he , if you get sent off ,thats how to do it , all you critics , lay off hes done us proud this season
Sorry mate I disagree and no I'm not one of the ones trying to lynch the lad. It was a stupid foul caused by a rush of blood, it was easier for him to keep his foot down and take the ball. He went over the top red all day.
****ing idiot thats what he is. Unforgivable tackle under the circumstances and just what we didn't need from an experienced player, when we are short on bodies to start with. What the **** he was thinking is beyond me but he should be bollocked big time for that challenge.
Elmo's back can't be any worse and he's been outstanding for Hull and maybe a season in the championship has improved him if nothing else lets PDC cast an eye over him. As to CG's challenge dangerous stupid and he should have known better especially after last week. I was screaming for the Mag who tackled AJ in exactly the same way to be sent off but he only got a yellow seen similar tackles get get both red and yells what we do need is consistency.
I dont think anyone is claiming it wasnt a red card - it obviously was. He ****ed up, but that doesnt make him a ****. It was a stupid mistake made at the worst possible point of the season, but he'd be a **** if he did it on purpose which I'm 100% sure he didnt.
I was a tad vitriolic last night in my treatment of Gardner, BUT against Chelsea he tried a similar challenge and got away with it (well, a yellow...and thus a suspension). If it was just a one-off challenge I wouldn't use the word, but it wasn't and in these circumstances, he acted like a stupid **** for putting us in that position. It doesn't mean I wouldn't keep him at the club, I would. I love his spirit and attitude, but he has to learn to play under pressure or his career will be one of yet another also-ran. The only benefit is that he's been so dreadful for the last 2 games, we play better without him. The only other change I would make to last nights team is putting Bardo and Colback in as full-backs, Rose left midfield and Donkeyboy Mclean on the bench. he was painfully poor first half, especially. bag of sand? bag of ****e....
Gardner has been excellent this season - stood out for me - this was a shocking tackle and stupid but everyone has these moments in them. It was certainly no worse than Goffran's against us but got the correct punishment. Gardner in general has been good this season so I will not turn on him for one moment of madness
Fair enough. I wouldnt put Bardo in the team. He isnt match fit and needs a full pre-season to get sharp. Colback at RB, Rose at LB Mcclean on the LW. He was appaling on the right but ok on the left. We dont have much choice really, except to put Larrson on the right, AJ on the left with Vaughan, Ndaiye in CM with Graham and and Mandron up front.
As fans, we need to stop pointing the finger at the refs, and start pointing them at FIFA (for the most part). There's obviously some idiotic refs but for me, if I was shown a quick snippet of every mistimed tackle in real time and asked to grade them just a foul foul, yellow or red cards I'd get a shed load of them wrong without having at least one more look at the tackle. As fans we get the benefit of 30,000 camera angles and slow motion instant replays. Unless the ref has a brilliant view of it and is 100% totally convinced that the player deserves a red card then the rest of it is probably just guess work. The only legitimate reason I've heard against video technology is that it will be the first step to eventually having no referees at games, that sounds like something I don't want to happen to the game, I like the ref being there on the pitch but there's no way it can continue like it is. Gardner was an idiot last night, he deserved what he got and what he'll inevitably get inserted into his fartpipe by Di Canio for putting you in such a position.
