I've actually got that Topps Tiles shirt, still wear it most weeks playing football. Surprised it's lasted this long, especially looking at my King Power shirt that seems to be falling apart already!!
... I'm not the one implying _ I'm merely commenting on human nature - you on the other hand seem to have the inside track on what everyone else is thinking - or is it perhaps, just your opinion?
You've lost me now. It's pretty obvious That Walsh and Shakey rate Pearson if they keep working with him - it doesn't take a genius or having any "inside track" to work that out.
You wouldn't jeopardise your career by associating with someone who you didn't rate. Unless you were insane.
I used to watch us train many times, when Nigel was here and he did nothing, he just stood there with his bottle of water and his arms folded, and watched while his assistants did it for him!
Yeah Nigel just puts his feet up and picks his nose Yet more lies Charles for a "teacher" explain how you can watch training when you at school Joe Public cant go and watch training as the training ground is private property and off limits to everyone outside the club. Not even the media can watch training without proper permission from the club
They still dont allow Joe Public in. They might do a relaxed open training session but you really think you learn anything from watching it? Its totally different to what normally happens
... yes you do - if you want to be certain. There are plenty of people who have worked for bosses they didn't rate because the financial package and circumstances suit. Not for one minute saying that is the case here - just that you are again assuming that something must be so because you'd like it to be.
You wouldn't work with a manager you don't rate yourself because football managers lose their jobs all the time and if they're generally unrated they won't get another. This would likely damage you're own reputation then. Besides, they are both highly rated within their own field. I'm sure any number of different managers would like to work with them. They seem to have good reasons for working with Pearson. The likeliest explanation is that their opinion of Pearson is contrary to yours.
Gangsta - the point I was making stems from having been 'headhunted' twice by somebody I didn't particularly like nor think was particularly good at their job - I took the 'golden carrot' on the second occasion because it benefitted me and my family to do so ... so it is a bit of a generalisation to assume that you will only work with somebody you 'admire and respect' ... ... and again the 'likeliest explanation' is again just your opinion of the likeliest explanation buddy ...
But you're comparing football to the real world, which doesn't collate. Your failures and successes are in the world's shop window here. "Admire and Respect" are not what we're talking about - we're talking about working with people that will make and break your career on your behalf. They may hate his guts but they must believe in him. Of course the likelihood is that they rate Pearson! Unless YOU are the one with the inside track and you're hinting at something, we have no really evidence, not even suspicion, that the case is otherwise! Simply that you rate Shakey & Walshy but not Pearson and you're presenting the possibility, no matter how remote, that they agree with you! And you told me off for spin... By the way, if you do know something, please feel free to divulge.
I have no idea about the inside track on Nigel Pearson and his colleagues - but I did play a fair standard myself in my younger days and mixed with lads who had been on pro-contracts as well as ex-pros (also had a serious knee-injury at 19 for which I did rehab with some recuperating top pros Celtic, Reading to name two of the clubs who had guys there) - from those individuals - particularly the 'stories' / 'rumours' they were free with- I can tell you, first hand (but with acceptance that there might have been some 'elaboration') that it is obvious 'to me' that the very same frictions that exist in every other workplace exist in football. ... and I'm not attempting to 'present possibilities' ... but unlike you I don't always discount others out of hand if they don't accord with what I would 'like' to be the case ...
charlie - you do amuse me at times ... now I've sat on a wall and I've sat on the grass ... but the concept of sitting on a hedge is bizarre to say the least ... did you get thorns in your arse? ... that would explain a lot.
