Dont see a problem myself. All will be sorted out very soon. All those out of contract should be busting a gut to get a new one. This subject is for another day.
I cant see many being offered new deals, especially if we are promoted. This could very well be a blessing in disguise. Promotion to the promise land and an empty wage bill (relatively speaking) to rebuild using.
I can imagine Rosenior, Simpson and possibly Faye being offered one-year deals no matter which league we're in (longer deals for Rosenior and Simpson if we don't go up). I think Emerton might get an extra year, also think McShane will be offered a 2 year deal if we go up, 3 if we don't. I think we'll let the rest of out of contract players go. 5 or 6 of the 2014 lot need extending in the summer though too.
On Faye's performances this season - he'd be one of the first I'd offer an additional 12 month deal to. He's been exceptional, he has PL experience and he'd be brilliant as cover.
I wouldn't be surprised if Rosenior left at the end of the season irrespective of whether he's offered a new deal or not. He's a good player, and I imagine there'll be plenty of Championship clubs who will be interested in him.
I'd definitely give Faye another year, whatever league we're in. I'd like to see us tie Aluko up with anything up to a ten year deal(most talented player we've had since Jay Jay). I'd release Bradley, simply for being the world's worst tweeter(I'd let him go on a free to Nandos). I don't know if Rosie will want to stay if we're playing 3-5-2, as he doesn't get much of a look in, but it seems a shame to lose him. I think Proschwitz, Mclean and Simpson will all go in the summer, regardless of what league we're in. If we get promoted, I'd release McShane and ship out Bruce too(but Stevie won't do either). And **** knows what Danny Emerton will do, the poor bugger regularly looks our best reserve, but never gets a look in, nor does he even get any decent loan offers.
He's absolutely right. Faye has played 6 straight seasons in the top flight; if his performance this season doesn't merit an extension then surely his invaluable experience does.
im not stating he is wrong in his opinion liek others do on here, just curious as to if he still stands by it. myself i would keep for another year as 5th choice cb, good player and good expereince in the squad. shame his legs have gone, would cringe at the thought of him starting unless no other (and better) options are avaliable for selection
I think Bruce did ok at CB, but as long as he's here there's always a danger he'll be played in midfield so I'd send him out on loan. Agree about Rosenior but I don't think there'll be much room for sentiment. I'd keep Bradley; despite his failings on social media he's actually a pretty good player and would serve as good cover. That said, I've heard a little whisper that Bradford are interested in him so given the opportunity he'll probably leave anyway. Cullen, for all his promise hasn't delivered and his career needs to kick on. Best for all parties if he leaves, same goes for Danny East and Jamie 'Donkey Face' Devitt. Conor Townsend should get a fresh deal, perhaps loan out Wilson to a team that's actually going to play him. Emerton will leave scratching his head, he couldn't even get into Alfreton's team. But he'll be picked up by a Conference/League 2 club. We seem to differ on what we think will happen to Proschwitz; I really don't think he'll leave because 1) Nobody will buy him for £2.6m on his current form and 2) He's not actually that bad a player. He just hasn't been as good as Aluko or made as much of an impression as Simpson, Gedo and Boyd therefore hasn't been able to get in the side.
Quick question, has Boyd actually signed for us properly? I've heard it's been agreed but is it actually done ?
It's agreed, but it can't be signed, as the transfer window is shut. As for Faye, I would give him another year, we're about to sign McShane and Faye is better.
Proschwitz was going out on loan to Germany in January, but it was cancelled when Aluko got injured, I don't see any future for him at City.
Thanks. I thought as much. Going up is brilliant in itself but it will give us the chance of finally securing Chesters contract and now I don't think Boyd will be tempted with anyone else.
Any players who cannot get into the championship team are not going to play in the premiership unless they are youngsters for the future. If you are honest with yourself how many strikers have we got who are good enough for the premiership? i don't think any accept Aluko but is he a proper striker, prozzy struggled, simpson not enough goals, Fryatt a decent finisher but is he quick enough. We have to remember there is a big difference between the two divisions, everything is quicker. Regarding faye and Rosenior two players i like But West ham got rid of faye and said " for three quarters of the season he was our player of the year but because of his age he can go" Lets not forget that was a year ago so for me this is a really difficult one, i don't think SB would hesitate if he was a couple of years younger but he isn't. Now regarding Rosie again someone i like but lets not forget we have been playing in the championship and is manager as gone out and got a loan player in is position so that does not bode well however what he might do is offer them both one year deals. Of the loan players i think he will go for Elmo, Stockdale will depend on price, Gedo went off towards the end so i would be doubful and fathi i dont think as much chance because if SB thought he was good enough then he would have played more.
