Superb shout on Methally, Dex and Swan Hills - hard race to find the winner in. Illustrious Prince ran a great race Stick and in second still keeps up my each way yankee. Great start for the forum so far, Lets go with Storm moon in the next at Kempton, he ran in a good race at Newmarket and looks on a very reasonable mark.
Cheers SMP - I actually think Ron has already put up the next best one in the Windsor 5.05 Mean It. Jamie Spencer rode Meriticrocy in the first at Kempton and is now on his way to Windsor to ride it. It's only 7-4 but looks a good thing.
Well done Dexter and Bluesky! Looked like I sponged it from you, Dex, but I had not noticed you had tipped it, but did fancy the old fellah a bit myself. Speed figures were good for this race, and just needed a strong pace, which I guess he had?
Well done SMP - this forum can do no wrong it seems today. I think Matt chapman just called it right on the stewards in that Nocturn is guilty of carrying the other horse across but the other horse never looked like going past. Great Call Sir Percy
Cheers blue, great start to the day for the forum! I'm on sparville as well SMP, beat 5151 by 5 lengths LTO, that's come out to win by 4.5 lengths this weekend to frank the form.
I've taken a small bet on Parish Hall to beat Camelot, who will simply use this to bring him on for his important Group 1 races. SNA had a similar thing when he returned as a 4 year old.
17:05 Windsor - Highland Duke (Clive Cox's gelding could do well in this if fit after long break. Will have a small wager). Good shout Sir Percy!
Camelot made a satisfactory reappearance there if you take the notion that he is expected to come on for that.
2 for me today that I put up LTO 4.00 Beverley Bling King 10/1 ran a very nice 3rd at Redcar LTO on his 2nd start back after a year off and the course that day was suiting those who were front ranked and he was the only one to make any inroads from off the pace. He races here off the same mark of 77 and he looks very well handicapped on his 2 year old form for Eve Johnson Houghton where he won off a mark of 92. With first time cheekpieces applied, I think 10s looks a very big price and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he was successful in this contest. 5.00 Beverley Stagweekend 20/1 is a horse who I definitely think is well handicapped off a mark of 62 and the handicapper has been rather lenient dropping him 3lb for his last run which I thought was full of promise. On his seasonal reappearance, Stagweekend was taken care of by Michael O'Connell as he came home to finish a 5L beaten 4th. He should come on a lot for that outing and with John Quinn in belting form I think he's much too big a price at 20/1.
ROTO, I'm against you for this race but would be interested in Bling King at a different track in a slightly bigger field. LADY MACDUFF has been dropped quite kindly by the handicapper- she is down by half a stone this season already and to me it looks the sort of race that Joe Fanning can dictate from the front. There was a glimpse of promise last time out when making gentle headway from the rear, and if the horse can travel with the same purpose this time from the front, I fancy its chances. Having said that, he is a jockey who won't do me any bloody favours, so Bling King will probably hack up.
