Right, so this January capture has 15 league goals for Leeds this season, plus an FA cup and 3 league cup strikes. Total 19. Our misfiring bunch have Holt 6, Snodgrass 6 and Wes 4. Total 16. And yet yesterday, in possibly our most critical game of the last 4 (four) years, Becchio is not even on the bench? Can someone please try and explain to this country bumpkin exactly how the **** that works, as I'm totally mystified.
It makes no sense to not even have him on the bench. The guy has consistantly scored goals at Championship level and should have been given a chance.(Holt and Lambert have proved you can make the jump) My only conclusion is that CH and his team don't rate him. In all walks of life, certain people don't "hit it off" As as ex baggies fan (40 yrs ago) I really am in turmoil.
Is he really any worse than the only 2 strikers we have left? Infact even when Kamara was here was he really any worse than him? So bad he can't even warrant a place on the bench anymore? Even Jackson got 5 minutes yesterday. Is Becchio not even worth a go at all?
He's signed him ready for the championship next season ? Can't see why else ? I mean the jan window is turning out to be the biggest **** up ever !
Next game we should throw on the under 18's ! At least they'll show some spirit and have a go at WBA !
I am as bemused by the whole thing as everybody else but now Kamara is gone, I expect Becchio will at least be on the bench. It does beggar belief that Hughton signs a guy and doesn't play him though! He deserves a chance IMO.
Even if he starts the next 2 games that's still only 4 games since jan. Absolute madness. Wouldn't be surprised to see him play and not care, the guy must hate the club/hughton
He played up front by himself, with Hoolahan playing behind him against Fulham and unsuprisingly got battered by Hangeland and Senderos. He won his fair share of headers but suffered the same as all our forwards by having hardly any service and when he did win anything Hoolahan was standing and watching instead of picking up the pieces. He started against Everton and looked decent, was replaced by Kamara who scored the equaliser. Since then he's been given a minute off the bench at Man Utd, ten against Southampton, five against Wigan and hasn't even made the bench for our last two home games. I get the impression that had he been the one to score the equaliser against Everton, we would have seen more of Becchio and less of Kamara. I also think because the fans took to Kamara quicker than Becchio, Hughton has used that as a reason to use Kamara more as he was getting the crowd going more.
I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned he allegedly stormed out of Carrow Road a few games back! It seems more of a disciplinary matter to me!
If its a disciplinary matter then hughton has managed it terribly. Look at mancini with tevez. He let him play a part in their title push rather than risking the whole clubs season to tell him off.
If its true Becchio stormed out then I'm not bloody surprised he did. Unprofessional maybe, but he's simply getting nowhere here because he isn't getting game time. How frustrated would anyone feel about that? Just imagine he plays against WBA and scores a brace and we win the game, how annoyed will we feel as fans having watched misfire after misfire to discover that the answer to our goal drought wasn't being used or given game time?
If he had been given exactly the same game time as Kamara, I genuinely think he would have scored more than one goal
It's worrying that the guy who has been leading our forward line has been sent back for pretty much being surplus to requirements. (Correct decision) God knows how Wolfswinkel will fit into Hughton's system. Any striker who needs service won't get a sniff.
Leeds united goals 2012/13 maybe show you a bit more of becchio http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=tNo7NnavLfc&feature=youtu.be&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DtNo7NnavLfc%26feature%3Dyoutu.be
