Agreed, I withdraw what I said about the clappers, the club can dish them out every game for me. Though maybe go for a better quality one, mine disintegrated halfway through the second half. Thanks to Premiertiger for the replacement one when the players came out.
To be fair, the things worked very well in generating atmosphere. I loved them really. Just too bad we can't do it ourselves, it seems... The use of them to create the black and amber stripes as the teams came out was good, too bad it seemed some people didn't know which way round to hold it... Luckily, the people who normally sit to my right had decided to wuss out an not turn up - so I had a spare, which I gave to my 4 year old brother. What a mistake that has turned out to be so far...
No problems, I know you desperately wanted to clap along to Status Quo! I loved the clappers today, I went through 4 of the bloody things, but they helped make a great atmosphere today.
Have to say the noise from beginning to end was phenomenal today and that was on some dodgy p2p internet stream. I have a friend who watched his first City game, (only watched Prems game before) who thought the atmosphere was fantastic and couldn't believe the noise level for 20 K+. I didn't have the heart to tell him we are like a morgue normally.
They actually sounded like a proper clap and not an irritating unnatural sound like those balloon things they gave us one year.
