It has all come to an end, culminating in our best ever season. But is this one of the best seasons you've ever witnessed. Obviously answers are going to be different depending on age etc. The way it finished and how close it has been, this has to be my favourite season so far.
This season has had everything! I still think our first Premier League season was the best season I've seen but what we've achieved this season is fantastic especially when you consider how tough this league is to get out of. On top of promotion, we've beaten Leeds twice, conquered some of our bogey grounds and played some of the best football most of us have seen us play. Then we've had games like Oakwell last week and Peterborough at home and injuries to key players.
There were many at the start of this season saying how difficult it would be for us, how difficult it would be to get promotion. We were definitely not in the three favourites to go up. This is a sublime moment.....
It's between the first season in the prem and this season for our best ever season, and I may be high on this afternoon, but I think this edges it. We've been around the top all season, played some outstanding stuff before the injuries hit, massive drama right up to the last moment (and beyond it actually). What a season.
Absolutely - Brady I thought was superb, and for Proschwitz and McShane to find their scoring boots when they did, made it all the sweeter. I was just meaning when you look at what we had in December - this season - unbelievably - could have been even better. Not that I'm complaining - like I say for me, this was our best season.
At the start of the season I was asked where we'd finish and I said 6th. So in other words, this season has exceeded every expectation.
People go on about clubs achieving things, great spells in their history and clubs always look back. One day we will look back at these past ten years and say they are probably the ten best years in the clubs history. So lets celebrate, lets enjoy it and just enjoy the PL no matter how well we do. UTT.
Absolutely immense - we've played some great football this season + achieved automatic promotion despite losing our best 2 strikers (Aluko + Fryatt) for large parts of the season. Been supporting City since 1974/75 season and this along with our 1st season in the PL is the best ever
This has been the toughest Championship for ages, teams relegated on 51/54 points tells the story....we've over achieved and I've ****ing loved every minute.... 9/10
Last post on here tonight before I watch MOTD and the Championship in a Guinness induced fog (bye bye to that tatty programme and their bus-shot in lieu of actual Tiger coverage every week, Rosys dad is a class act though hope he's on tonight!). Today is our greatest achievement, it is bigger than the play-off win as it was earnt over the season and not via a knock-out cup format played over three games. We earnt this through hard graft over 8 months, it's not a fluke. We did it without strikers even! My last thought tonight is for Roko, without him there is no way we would be near the top of the league in any way, hope some fans will have a re-think about why they criticise players and realise that football is a team game and every player adds something, be it Roko or Alex Bruce, another one who got the job done for us.
A triumph for the Allams and Steve Bruce(who I really wasn't keen on as a manager) but credit where credits due, without the partnership we wouldn't be looking forward to Premiership games next season.
This will go down as the greatest season we have had in the Championship by gaining automatic promotion. The fact that we did so without any striker of note (after Aluko was injured) and we almost choked at the end but managed to succeed with our (almost) dying breath, is an achievement in itself. Credit to everyone concerned. I look forward to an exciting 2013/2014 season where surely we can bring in some exciting players who will set the KC on fire with some dynamic football and goals to send the crowds roaring.
I am glad to say i did my bit by attending the first two home games of the season. Will be back next season, probaly next year.Cant wait. Those last minutes must have been mindblowing i was bad enough over here Go tiges
