We need players like McShane in the team, yes he makes mistakes, but he has the courage and conviction of a Lion (Tiger). We needed a player like him to step up to the plate and pull the others up around him. After his goal there was a notable shift in our performance. All deserved a pat on the back today, but McShane was the standout performer with Brady - but edges it for his desire to get on the end of the cross and steer it home. Outstanding.
They all played well but he was streets ahead of the rest! "Don't sell McShane, Super Paul McShane............."
If all the players had the heart of Macca then we would in a great place, and he is proving he can play a bit as well.
Hate to be the one that isn't entirely positive, but Noone did beat him with ease on numerous occasions. Still, he showed great passion which he's always had, I still don't see him as a starting player in a Premier League side but I'd keep him on if it was on reasonable wages.
I just hope after what he's done today he gets a new contract as a reward considering he's out of contract in a few weeks. Give him a new 2yr contract brucie!
Mcshane should have been player of season, hes never once stood down from anything this year and is always somebody taking the fight to the opposition, good job he was fit today thats for sure
No doubt Noone is a very good player, but bare in mind he may have looked their most dangerous because he was up against Macca. Not really a criticism of McShane who was forced to play out of position and still tried his best.
What???? Seriously, McShane has proved a lot of people, including me wrong this season. He always gives it everything, and has proved a massively important player, while always looking like he has a mistake in him. He will be a squad player at best next year but will remain forever one of my all time City heroes, and tonight, more than ever I love the ginger superstar, a worthy MOTM today.
Just because someone tries hard doesn't make him player of the year. Most improved fair play, but you can not even compare his defending to Chester he is a different class, far more composed to. However Macca was brilliant today, Noone had him first half but Macca really did learn from that and improved his positioning.
If he gets what his performances this season deserve in terms of another contract, then yes, he'll be a Premier League Footballer.
