Roberto De Fanti has been working at Sunderlandâs Cleadon training ground this week on a consultancy basis following owner Ellis Shortâs dismissal of chief scout Bryan âPopâ Robson and his UK assistants, plus scouts in Holland and Spain. And De Fanti, who represents Dutch midfielder Nigel de Jong and Manchester Cityâs Swedish striker John Guidetti, is helping with the recruitment of Robsonâs replacement as chief scout with the likelihood of then being installed in a sporting director-style role. feel a bit sorry for pop robson but he did'nt get it right so has to take the criticism and the sack, its a lot of money to spend without any improvements and ellis short quite rightly wont stand for it so heres hoping the next bloke does a lot better.
Means nowt unless we stay up......................and if we do stay up I do not want players from relegated teams, Fletcher apart they have generally shown the form that explains why their previous team got relegated and results in us being in this position.
