http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11787/8685668/ Celtic midfielder Joe Ledley admits he is desperate to play in the Champions League again next season with the Scottish giants. The 26-year-old insists the prospect of performing at the highest level in club football will be at the forefront of his mind when it comes to contract extension talks with the Hoops during the summer. Ledley has been linked with a move back to Cardiff after his hometown club secured promotion to the top flight of English football. But the Wales international indicated he will stay in Glasgow, where he has proved to be an astute signing for Celtic boss Neil Lennon. Ledley said: "I don't know anything (about Cardiff). I haven't spoken to my agent, all I can do is concentrate on my football and hopefully stay at Celtic. "In pre-season I can sit down with my agent and with the people at Celtic and hopefully come to an agreement. "The majority of players would want to play in the Premier League but you have the opportunity to play in the Champions League at Celtic, the best competition in the world, and the majority of players would want that. "Champions League games at Celtic Park - it is the best atmosphere I have ever witnessed. We had a taste of it this season so hopefully we can do exactly the same next season and prove to everyone again how good a team we are. "It is going to be a long season, we are back in early for pre-season for the qualifiers again and it is going to be as difficult as last season. But hopefully we can do what we did this season and make the Champions League."
Get him signed right now for another 3 years at least. For as much as we say how good the likes of Hooper and Wanyama have been value for money, Joe Ledley on a free transfer was a ****ing steal.
Ledley should be a priority, especially since it sounds as if he's keen to stay. If Hooper and Vic don't want to talk about extensions then sell them and concentrate on players who do want to play for Celtic. It's hardly Rocket Surgery.
If it wasn't for his injuries this season (I'm sure there was more than one - his groin in December and an ankle, I think, at the start of the season), he'd possibly be captain.
He started the semi, yet Wilson got it ahead of him His attitude is spot on. If Broon's oot, I reckon Ledley should be captain anytime he's playing.
