some honourable mentions for Lee Chapman and Martin Hayes, sure they were both at the end of their careers but were big names at the time, especially as we were cellar dwellers then!
I remember the Martin Hayes song...to the tune of Ebeneezer Goode - "hayes is good, hayes is good, martin hayes is good!" haha, still cracks me up that one!

    1) Most important signing - Toshack
    2) Best value - Michu
    3) Personal favourite - Herbie Williams - born in Swansea and only played for Swansea over 500 games
    4) Honorary mention - Bob Latchford - signed for £125,000 and only played 2 seasons 12 goals in 31 games 1st season and 20 in 38 the 2nd year which is the year we got relegated and Bob moved on. Amazingly the Welsh Cup was the only trophy he won in his career (2 with the Swans and 1 with Merthyr). I am sure if we had him playing now just ahead of Michu he would still do a great job for us.

    1) Most important signing : I will go with the trunds, we started to get noticed, I firmly believe players signed as they wanted to be a part of it.
    2) Best value : Leon Britton, well we had him for nothing and he will spend his career with us (lets for get the 3 month gap), Michu has to come a close second and at 400,000 ash wasnt bad either.
    3) Your personal favourite : Roger Freestone, this guy was capable of playing in the PL, outstanding Keeper and a real nice guy, he loved the swans with a passion.
    4) Honourary mention (The Walter Boyd award) : james thomas for his hatrick, Joey morriera, (sorry for spelling) dont know why, just liked him and Jan Molby.
