James Chester says he and his team-mates are determined to complete a mission they have believed to be possible since the season started back in August. Despite being overlooked by most for promotion last summer, the Tigers have flown largely under the radar to get into a position where victory against Cardiff on Saturday will see a place in the Premier League secured and Chester admits it would mean so much to all involved to help the Tigers back into the top flight. âIn my mind, achieving what we could achieve this weekend was always possible,â said Chester. âLooking at the squad weâve got, itâs certainly as good as any other in this division but nobody seemed to give us a chance back at the start. âTo get the win we need on Saturday would be massive for all of us. There are a few of us that have come down from big clubs in the Premier League having never got the chance to play at that level and so weâre all eager to show that weâre good enough to play there. âThere would be no better way to reach the top than by winning promotion with Hull City. Playing up there with this club would be a dream and weâve put ourselves in a great position to achieve that. âBut we have a huge game on Saturday first.â Standing between the Tigers and a place in the top flight are newly-crowned Champions Cardiff and despite what is at stake for his side, Chester is anticipating an entertaining game. âWeâll certainly be going out there to try and express ourselves,â added the defender. âI think it will be a more entertaining game than our last three matches. They were all against teams fighting to stay up and they were tense games. âI think it might suit us more if Cardiff come out to play open football. Weâve struggled for goals in the last three games and I think that has been down to teams trying to make it difficult for us. âIf the play is more open, Iâm sure weâll create chances.â Read more at : James Chester Interview
