They are unbiased - it's just their attempts at journalism or showing balance are so incompetent that it can be mistaken for bias...

    I still don't know whether it's a joke.

I think Spurf might have been told something by Bloke In Pub and not checked it out. It's not true but it also doesn't look like a joke either. Could you imagine that a Prem team were getting an artificial pitch and this is the first you heard of it? Three months before the start of the season? With no hellfire and brimstone stories in the Mail for, oh, the past two years or so?

I'm surprised that you're not covering the pitch in sheets of a4, because we know, you're only good on paper <laugh>

  8. Back on topic - and still not sure whether this thread was a wind up or not - but the development of synthetic surfaces has come on leaps and bounds in recent years. Sarries play on one at their new stadium and most accounts are that it is incredibly 'realistic' to grass, with none of the old problems regarding injury and speed/height of bounce etc.

As more and more cash is poured down the drain replacing grass surfaces 2 or sometimes 3 times a season, I can see a viable longer term option becoming a welcome prospect to many clubs.
