Happy Day of the Worker! DÃa del trabajador is celebrated in Peru every 1st of May. I started my bank holiday with a 27k long run, this being the last before I take part in the Lima marathon on Sunday 19th of May. When I ran it last year I basked in our recent survival heroics, this year I shall simply focus on the job in hand and who I'm running for, the most loving children's home I've ever visited, in the mountains of Huaraz in central Peru. Please feel free to dig deep and sponsor me at: www.virginmoneygiving.com/perurunningman Thank you in advance! Here's to better things ahead for the hoops and more importantly for the children at Arco Iris. Thanks a lot, Paul
All done bruv. I've sponsered a couple of kids in Honduras for the last 15 years or so, and have seen the poverty that children in that part of the world (Central and South America) live, so IMO a very worthy cause. Top work and keep us informed how you get on (Gutted i can't train meself due to injury so very jealous)
Thanks Woody and Dave, really appreciate your support. Good luck Queens, the plan is definitely to finish, I've been fortunate enough to finish my previous 7, but never count my chickens so to speak
You are not far off £800 now Peruvian. That amount of money for the kids is well worth running for. Good luck Sunday.
It goes without saying that one of the people I will be running in memory of tomorrow is Brix. The same day, Thursday, that I read the sad news about Brix I heard also that a young man who I'd first worked with in Arequipa 7 years ago when he was a boy had passed away that morning. Jesús had the most radiant smile that lit up any room despite his profound disability, he leaves a massive hole in our hearts. For Jesús, Brix, for all their relatives grieving their loss, I shall try and run well tomorrow.
