I agree with PoolTiger. There should be a rule that everyone has to predict ridiculous scorelines. That'd make it fairer.
Yea I think something like that would make it more interesting. Although it looks like I will end up being the winner, in my opinion WithsHC is currently ahead. I am the Watrford of this competition. Although I did not technically break any of the rules I clearly did not follow the spirit of the competition. A rule change that would make it harder for me to play the odds would be fine with me. I still intend on playing the odds mind you, but 2-1 and 1-2 does seem unfair.

Think I might detect the sight of a tongue firmly in cheek there! None of the scores need to be "ridiculous"....0-0, 0-1, 0-2, 1-0, 1-1, 1-2, 2-0, 2-1, 2-2, 3-1 for example and that is without usong any of Viking Eriks more extreme predictions
Think I might detect the sight of a tongue firmly in cheek there (and that from someone who doesn't participate)! None of the scores need to be "ridiculous".....0-0, 0-1, 0-2, 1-0, 1-1, 1-2, 2-0, 2-1, 2-2, 3-1 for example and that is without using any of Viking Eriks more extreme predictions
The point of the game is to predict the scores, it doesn't work if you have to predict a score you don't think is correct, just because you have some score quota to use up.

The PL does not finish until the 19th May. So we can do 8 matches from that league i would have thought. The battle for a top 4 place and stay out of 18th spot looks like going to the wire.

But at the end of the day, it's only a game and none of us are very good at predicting exact scores. It might surprise you to know that even Ellewoods has only predicted 32 correct scores over the past 32 weeks! By jiggling the exampled scores that I quoted in post#1406 you could be near enough to what you want anyway (probably do better!).
In the past couple of weeks, I'd have probably done better if I was only allowed to use 47-0 for each game.

Liverpool 2 v 1 Everton (Sunday) Man Utd 2 v 1 Chelsea (Sunday) Tottenham 3 v 0 Southampton QPR 0 v 3 Arsenal Bolton 2 v 1 Blackpool Hull City 0 v 0 Cardiff Nottingham Forest 2 v 1 Leicester Watford 4 v 0 Leeds Swindon 2 v 1 Brentford (1st Leg) Cheltenham 2 v 0 Northampton Congratulations to Ellewoods who has been a great front-runner throughout the competition. There are no monetary prizes in this Competition but in most of these competitions where there IS a prize the forecasts towards the end of the competition are NOT printed on the boards but are sent to the compiler. This ensures fair play as (for instance) let us say that the Leader was only a handful of points in front of his nearest competitor (and well ahead of the third) he would simply have to emulate his nearest competitors forecast and win the money. Ellewoods has used a tactic which has proven to be successful and which is similar to my own but where I try to avoid draws like the plague. On many occasions I have had extra time goals rob me of 3 points but this is the spirit of the game and has to be accepted. Other Prediction Leagues use what they call a "Banker" system where your Main Selection garners double points of you are successful but can result in deductions if you are not. Also you mark one selection where, if you are wrong, no points are deducted. This Prediction League works fine for me but a "Banker" could be something to look at.
