I don't hear it at The Liberty because I don't sit in the West Stand with all the bickering old men from Swansea West.

This the same Laudrup, that prior to the League Cup win, played 14 games.

    Winning 4
    - Chelsea, away
    - Fulham, away
    - Stoke, home
    - QPR, home

    Draw 7
    - Man Utd, home
    - Reading, away
    - Villa, home
    - Arsenal, home
    - Everton, away
    - Chelsea, home
    - Sunderland, away

    Lost just 3
    - Arsenal, away
    - West Ham, away
    - Liverpool, away

Your not a realist, your a delusionist. You see what YOU want to see. Everyone with an ounce of common sense knows that the team haven't been right SINCE the cup final, because its down to them playing as though the season is over rather than the tactics being wrong. If you watched the games instead of listening to those people around you, you would see in most of the games since, the performances have been there in spurts, but the PLAYERS go to sleep, not the manager. We are creating chances (something we have never been able to do easily) but are just not putting them away (something we have always never done ;))

As I said, you want realism, then wake up from your delusion.

You also mentiuon it being since the transfer window, now who have we played since that transfer window that wasnt part of the squad prior to the transfer window, Lamah? Uh no.

Who have we not played since that window, Graham, hardly got a look in prior, so he ruined it by changing things with his transfer signings aye......yeh that worked out well for you....

No-one is playing in any other role than they have been all season, and I dare you to prove me wrong. So tell me how he has changed a winning formula, to a losing formula....what has he changed Dai, come on all seeing Dai, tell us these facts. What EXACTLY has changed, who is now played out of position that wasnt prior to the window?

Ill be honest, I am not expecting a response from you.

ML arrived and had to plug some gaps due to transfers and loan players not available - he must take full credit for that.

ML at lest tries to vary the play and re subs look what happened at Wolves last season we were 2-0 up Bendan makes 3 substitutions and we end up throwing away 3 points in a 2-2 draw with Wolves getting 2 on the last 6 mins

Well I can't agree with Dai's view on Laudrup, though I do agree with him that our current form is of concern, and although we only have 4 games left, it would trouble many fans to finish this great season, on such a bad slump, so it's my view that our boys really do need to show what they are made of in these last four games, come on Laudrup sort it out!................<cheers>

I don't think anyone will argue that current form is not a concern Phil, but it has to be put in the context of the whole season. As you say, lets hope we can finish on a high.

Yes your right it does need to be put in context, but it seems our boys think the job is over ounce we reach the magical 40 points, they pretty much did the same last season?...........<doh>

    Knackered,
Dai is pining for Brendan. Phil is pining for Allen and Borini, Orlandi on occasions. I've seen comments from Swans fans on here and other sites who put our lack of goals down to not replacing Graham. I've seen people saying they'd have Sinclair back.

We were watching different games. De Guzman for example WAS working his bollocks off in that first half....he was frequently the furthest up the pitch, beyond Michu, because he has the better engine and had obviously been told to do the closing down of their defenders.
A couple of times he gave the ball away, or was robbed, and stopped sprinting when tracking back....incredibly frustrating I admit.
But is that because of the football culture we've been brought up in? where to lose the ball and not chase it all the way back to the box is a sin....
does he just use his energy smarter?
On the TV you could see that for the goal he simply wasn't getting that ball back.....does he then hold his position ready for a possible counter attack/clearance to chase down? or does he use his energy inefficiently chasing a lost cause?
We were done by 2 good passes and a great finish, credit where it's due.
Where we could have improved on that first goal was not giving the ball away in the first place....but it doesn't always result in such disastrous consequences and IS going to happen.

    Re: the commentator
The cockney twat was getting stuck into us and claiming our players weren't earning their "big wages" before Chelsea had even threatened us....we were growing into the game and opening them up at the time. If our boys weren't earning their wages what the **** could you say about them? They are earning 6-8 times as much, they should be beating us at least 2-0 at home.
Then they scored and he really went to town, doesn't matter really because whoever he was he really was an ignoramus....if we listened to voices like that pretty soon we'd be Stoke or Sunderland.

    Re: continual improvement
People have got to get their head around that we might have peaked this year. To improve further we need to go through a glass ceiling and I happen to think we've got in charge one of the few guys in World football who might just be able to achieve that incredible feat.

I for one will be showing Laudrup, and players who are deserving, respect while they go about this task.
Fans throwing their toys out of the pram over our recent string of results seem to have caught the delusional disease off their fellow Premier fans

    Exactly Swansealona.

We have to play Michu up front because we don't have a top drawer striker.
Laudrup played the long game in January getting the best price we could for Graham. Come the summer we will have options and a markedly increased goal threat.
He knew he had enough in the squad to win the cup final and finish in the top 10.
If we don't finish in the top 10 he will be disappointed and will be far more likely to get rid of Moore, Dyer/Hernandez.

In the meantime he will play Michu up front in order to accommodate an extra midfielder for the tough games (Scottswan made this point the other day) and give Moore/Schecter a chance in the games we think we can win (to assess them).

Up front combined with defensive depth is where the problems lie IMO.
He's replacing Gower for Canas, which will make us a lot stronger. He'll only get another midfielder if he gets rid of Agustien...and it will be a midfielder capable of scoring rather than muscle IMO.
Wouldn't be so surprised to see Dyer/Hernandez replaced either.
Next season we'll have our strongest ever squad and 4/5 players capable of scoring in the Prem.

Some great comments on this thread i must say <ok>

Its been known for some time that Pablo is taking the longest time to settle into life at Swansea, the guy very often looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders, its clear to see he is very much a confidence player, i watch him closely and see the frustrating when the ball bobbles up onto his shin ...thats very often because the guy is trying too hard, if you remember early season he scored a couple of goals and his play totally relaxed, becoming the first name on the team sheet, it was a massive blow that he got injured just as he was flying high!

We must give this player time, you dont get caps for Spain if your a dummy or flash in the pan so lets be patient with thi guy <ok>

Alot of our signings are playing their first prem season so fatigue physically and mentally could be a problem, not an immense problem but enough for them to take the edge off their game.

As i mentioned on another thread a point that has been mised is that the players know that next season will be starting alot sooner so with a quicker turn around in terms of rest you could maybe see the mentlity not to burn out at 100% every game, im not saying its acceptable but im saying alot of small things combined together can create the bigger problem which we are seeing right now <ok>

Regarding Daiswans comments, the guy is a total cnut IMO, yet again how can you say"Laudrup has lost the plot" ??

There is no real love or appreiciation for the Swans and the current set up in his eyes. First it was Huw but he has gone quiet on that one, then it was Rodgers, now its Laudrup..<laugh>

If you keep thinking negative thoughts for long enough then something negative will eventually happen! so expect him to say in 9 months time "i told you so" RE some bollocks he spouted off about player or manager.
My own view of the club is that its in great Health, lets not forget where we have come from but lets start to think positive as well, it will be extremely hard to stay in the premier league next season,as it was this season! we are a small team with the lowest budget so for us to be winning trophies and competing against the big clubs is nothing short of incredible, lets remember the premier league is unforgiving and ruthless, bigger clubs than swansea would kill to be in our position...think that tells you everything about the job done at the Swans this season <ok>

I for one am not throwing anything, but it's a fine line between expecting too much and expecting effort - and I think we should at least expect the latter. We agree to disagree, maybe, but we didn't get that on Sunday and I'm not the only one saying so.

    All about opinions I guess.

<laugh>.............Let me set the record straight............<ok>

    1) Orlandi do I rate him Yes, Should we have let him go, No. Do I think he's a better player than De Guzman, Yes. Can he hack it in the Prem, He already has.

    2) Allan, Is he a better midfielder than De Guzman, Yes. Are we missing him, Yes. Would I have him back, Yes.

    3) Borini would I have him here as part of a deal for Ash? Yes. Do we need a Striker, Yes.

Am I pining for any of these, no! Just pointing out that not all our transfer business has been good for the squad. Have a nice day terror!...........<cheers>

I would have liked to see Orlandi stay but i'm not sure he would have made a difference he was deft player who would drift in and out of games, it's leadership and commitment we're missing not silky skills. Allen on his day is probably better than De Guzman but he wanted to go and we got 15m for him, i see that as good business, no regrets. as for Borini i don;t think anyone would disagree with him coming in, but i'm not sure he'd want to. Not having a proven recognised striker has put the team at a massive disadvantage but i've no doubt ML is acutely aware of this and i'm sure it'll remedied very soon

I shall have great pleasure in re-posting my statement many many times next season that will prove who is deluded or not...I think the guys who have been swans supporters longer than most were born on here will know a bit more about football and the signs of going backwards than you PG and i will remind you of this plenty of times to come if laudrup keeps playing his type of football.....I bet that if he does not change it wont be us knowledgeable fans calling for him to go but the board will as well......watch this space if he dont get back to the way we use to play

As Knackered said, this board is about opinions. Here's mine

    1) Orlandi - I rate him but he has not proved himself in the Premier and is not better than De Guzman...a full Holland international, scorer of Premier goals (he averages 1 goal in 5 games across his career in the Dutch, Spanish and English top flights) and set piece specialist. It would appear Laudrup agrees with me, but then maybe he needs your advice on player ability as well as man management <laugh>

    2) Allen - again, I rate him...loved him. See above for goal scoring and creating comparison. £15 million was laughable, will buy us Ki, Michu and De Guzman. How come the team he played in didn't win a cup or achieve safety as early if we are missing him so badly?

    3) Borini was a good player but hasn't proved himself in the Premier.Fact

Exactly, if you don't evolve you face extinction...even Barca are finding that out.
Soon Brendan will too. He'll be gone by Christmas.

"I shall have great pleasure in re-posting my statement many many times next season that will prove who is deluded or not..."

says it all really, proof if needed that Dai is not a true Swansea City supporter, he actively hopes for a scenario where we are relegated so he can say "I told you so".
