Hi all, Never been to White Hart Lane before, one of only 2 grounds left to tick off in the Prem, and I'm travelling on my own so wanted to see if anyone had any views on using Seven Sisters and walking or other suggestions? Cheers
It is a very long walk from Seven Sisters nipper*. I drove on the last two occasions. *That use of nipper was just to reinforce my Southampton credentials.
Thanks Godders, as I'm a nipper I don't mind the 20 minute walk . Was wondering if everyone considered it a safe area as I'm on my own?
There will be other Saints' fans going so tag along with them but not a gang of other young lads find some older people. I never felt worried in the area although my mate had his pocket picked in the crowd so take care. It will be an entirely different experience to Swansea.
You can get any number of buses (149, 259, 76) from Seven Sisters if you don't fancy the walk. Tottenham is one of the most run down areas in London, but it's safe. Shabby as ****, but safe. I live in North London and have been to WHL many times, often wearing a Saints scarf or shirt, and never had any trouble from Spurs fans, though they do have a few leary supporters, like every club I suppose. As for pubs, avoid any that are painted blue and white (there's quite a few). The Elbow Room on the High Road is friendly to visiting supporters.
Good advice thanks, I'm in my 29th year of watching Saints and with grey hairs starting to show I'm going to direct more threads to Godders just to feel young again . I never wear colours to away games so I don't have to worry about that, just can't be bothered with the drive in as I do so many miles during the week
Get the overground line from seven sisters to enfield town or chesunt and get off at white hart lane, its literally like 5 minutes if less. A walk from seven sisters is dire
Have a good time mate. Obviously if you get another spare ticket for this one you know who to contact!!
im going to seven sisters, southampton / clapham (breakfast at a weathersppons down the road) then heading up to seven sisters for a few beers, then a short train trip to white hart lane station, from what i have seen online it's a couple minutes away from the ground i was going to goto liverpool street, but my friend got direct tickets, and semi planned the day out. just hope we bump into some saints around seven sisters
