I would go for a formation that alot of the teams doing well in the premiership go with one up top which would acomodate most of our attacking players including moving King in to a more forward position whilst have a couple of holding midfielders in to allow the full backs to add some width. Probably wont happen but love to see this next season. Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Kean Konchesky Drinkwater James Nugent King Marshall Wood
... thing is we HAVE to win ... and he may therefore need to adapt rather than playing with a 'loan striker' ... but I would happily play the formation to start with but with two changes for me ... Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Kean Schlupp Drinkwater James Knockaert King Marshall Wood Konchesky has been a liability all season ... and a good part of our 'good run' coincidied with him being injured ... Nugent is a decent footballer but not an out-and-out striker (and doesn't offer enough out wide or in midfield) - bench for me ...
I've been shouting for this formation all season, think Nugent's wasted out wide though. I'd consider playing him just behind Wood, in the position you've currently got King in, although a bit more advanced. Sort of like Juan Mata plays at Chelsea. With an attacking 3 I'd like to see Knockaert and Schlupp in there too.
yeah I think its one of those formations that we could easily rotate the players round based on form or the opponents and would suit most of our players apart from maybe Dyer who is coming to the end of his career. Be interesting to see Waggy at some stage as well as still think there is a class player there.
