    18 August 2012
Robert Green spills a Michu’s 25-yard speculative effort after 8 minutes – R’s go on to lose 0-5 vs Swansea.

    28 August 2012
First win of the season and first goal for Jose Bosingwa – 3-0 vs Walsall – thoughts of a cup run abound.

    15 September 2012
Ferdinand refuses to shake the hand of John Terry and Andy Johnson ruptures his knee ligaments - a stalemate 0-0 vs Chelsea.

    23 September 2012
QPR dominate a first half that has Dyer and Zamora rolling back the years, then crumble in 90 seconds after a Faurlin own goal – finally going down 1-2 to Spurs handing them their first home win of the season.

    26 September 2012
£15 a ticket deal sees over 11,500 fans expectantly welcome Stephane Mbia on his debut in the League Cup. Two great goals snuffed out by poor defending and Mbia lucky to stay on the pitch after conceding a last minute penalty kick – the R’s go down 2-3 vs Reading.

    01 October 2012
Two sloppy goals gift West Ham a 2 goal lead, only for Rangers to storm back with a wonder goal from Taarabt, before losing the over eager Samba Diakite to a red card and effectively killing any hope – the R’s go down 1-2 to the Hammers.

    21 October 2012
A flying start with a hint of luck, grants QPR a lead only to see the ball crash back off the frame of the goal and gift Everton a return slice of luck. Even the red card of Pienaar late on cannot help the cause – held 1-1 at home to Everton.

    27 October 2012
A ‘there for the taking’ Arsenal team is held at 0-0 until the red mist descends and Stephane Mbia kicks out on 80 minutes, handing the impetus to Arsenal who take the points from the spot – R’s go down 0-1.

    17 November 2012
The much dubbed ‘el sackico’ match lives up to its billing, signalling the beginning of the end of Mark Hughes’ reign in a dismal tepid surrender. Jason Puncheon shows QPR what they missed out on as Ferdinand’s lack of skill in turning the ball into his own net condemns the R’s to another winless game as they crash 1-3 at home to the Southampton.

    23 November 2012
Hughes sacked as Harry Redknapp leverages the lure of Ukraine to enter the hotseat at Loftus Road.

    15 December 2012
Finally after 17 matches, Taarabt’s magic feet lift the stadium roof off. Typically, a late consolation goal turns glee to dread as Rangers manager to scrape over the line 2-1 vs Fulham.

    26 December 2012
No fortune for the R’s as Marc-Antoine's 'legitimate barge' see Rob Green carry the ball over the line to hand over all three festive points – the R’s going down again at home 2-1 to West Brom.

    30 December 2012
An abject performance sees the R’s ripped apart in 30 minutes. A training game thereafter as Liverpool coast to a 0-3 win. No Jamie Mackie comeback this season.

    02 January 2013
A false dawn as QPR somehow convince their London neighbours to put out a weakened squad. Amazingly Shaun Wright Phillips scores for the first time in 969 days. New Year – a new winning streak 1-0 vs Chelsea.

    15 January 2013
An away win for the first time in over a year – Rob Green plays a blinder. We all start believing the Harry Houdini act is gaining momentum as the R’s go through 1-0 in the cup vs West Brom.

    19 January 2013
A first touch debut goal for Loic Remy suggests the transfer window signing will keep the Rs up, but a backs-against-the-wall second half finally coughs up an equalizer and the R’s hang on to a 1-1 draw with West Ham at the Boleyn.

    26 January 2013
Back to earth with a bump as the Dons ‘do a Swansea’ and rout the R’s at home. The lack of pig-bag blaring out after the two goal rally at the death says it all – MK humble the R’s 2-4 at home.

    02 February 2013
A full house watches Taarabt miss a penalty and spare a vital 3 points – after so much effort from Jamie Mackie in winning the PK, 0-0 to Norwich feels more like defeat.

    09 February 2013
Bossed again by the Swans – this time it's Samba that's brushed off by Michu in a reverse of the laws of physics – as the R’s crash 1-4 away at Swansea.

    02 March 2013
A final glimmer of hope, sparked by a moment of effort and determination by Park Ji-sung after another failure to hold a first half lead. 2-1 to the R’s at Southampton and the great escape seems back on.

    09 March 2013
Finally back-to-back victories and two scorchers too, to set Loftus Road alight as MON’s Sunderland crumble 3-1 to the Rs.

    16 March 2013
The dichotomy that sums up the whole season as the R’s outplay Villa for 44 minutes with only Brad Guzan and the post thwarting a 3 or 4 goal salvo. Let down again by thoughtless football from Boswinga, and lack of command by Julio Cesar to allow the home side to go 1-1 in at half time to boos from their fans. Zamora’s failure to emerge from the dressing room changes the entire impetus and despite the best efforts, relegation is all but sealed at 2-3 away to Aston Villa.

    01 April 2013
Keystone cops defending hands a 3-0 lead – and despite a spirited come-back and red-card player advantage, the loss of 3 goals in 41 opening minutes spells defeat 2-3 at Fulham.

    07 April 2013
The final nail in the coffin. No way back from this haymaker punch. The R’s hold on for 65 minutes after a reckless red card kick from Zamora spells an early end to his career. Goal of the season from Remy gives false hope as the R’s do what they have all season and let one error of judgement undo all the hard work. 1-1 at home to Wigan – a result that effectively sends both down.

And as my kids would say 'the End!'
    Thanks for reading.

    :)

I think it was the Villa game that finally did for us, if that Bosingwa free-kick goes in rather than smacking the post.. who knows, onwards and upwards, you Rssssssssss

You are not the only person to say this including myself, but looking back if we had just gone in at 1-0 and not allowing Villa score with their one and only chance (still a half chance in my opinion) we could be looking at a totally different table today. If, Buts and maybe's!!

Agree totally on the Villa match.

The guy next to me summed it up when he said '30 minutes to save our season'.

29 goals in 35 matches simply isn't good enough

True. As soon as Villa scored just before HT I stepped out for a quick-fire double cigarette. Knew we would throw it away in the second and to be honest, I could see the curtains slowly drawing on us from that point forward.

    But....

...we'll be back!! Onwards and upwards!!

Nice one Sku, very succinctly written.

It reads like a too far fetched dystopian footballing hell.

If you had made that up and posted it on here before the season started, you'd of been branded as a self-masochistic sicko.

Next season can only get better, can't it?

Had we gone in 2 or 3 up as we could well have done, with the restless natives baying for AVB I think we'd probably have won - and that would kicked off our season. Would the confidence of that and the previous Chelsea game seen our team playing as good as that every week? Maybe not - but the team would have got going and performing to a much higher ability than they ever acheived again.

Have to agree with Tooting that the Tottenham game was the moment everything went awry.
First half we were superb. Ale Faurlin and granero were bossing the game. Dyer was inspired and 1-0 at h-t flattered them and not us. Remember that we had come off an encouraging performance against the scum and although we were worried that Ale had been brought back too quickly from injury, things were really looking up....
and then the Ale own goal from nothing and the immediate second. I don't think either of that midfield pair has done anything since and it felt like the rush back from injury caught up with Ale that day.
But I remember going into the WH game the following Monday convinced that this was the night our season really started.... it is hard to believe that the first half at Spurs and the first half at home to West Ham were just 8 days apart....
I am so glad this season is basically over....
