Morning Peeps, McDermott has promised hull his side will not travel to Watford to make up the numbers as the promotion race reaches its climax on Saturday. Although Hull City will seal their return to the Premier League with a win over Cardiff at the KC Stadium, one eye will inevitably drift towards Vicarage Road where third-placed Watford will aim to crank up the heat on Steve Bruce's men. Hosting a Leeds side without an away win in the Championship since December 1, the Hornets will be firm favourites to record a third consecutive win and leave City requiring three points of their own on the final day of the season. McDermott has also stated for the record that Diouf does have a future at ER. Austin will miss the final game of the season after his three match ban for a straight red card was upheld by the disciplinary committee. This means he misses Saturdays visit to Watford. It looks as though Millwall are safe folks, with one game of the season to go. They drew 0-0 a last night against Palace meaning they leap frog Sheffield Wednesday. With three sides below them, they would have to be very unlucky now to face the drop. We'll probably hear from some relieved Millwall fans later, and look forward to listening to their promotion plans to the Prem next season....
Morning all - I have a sneaky feeling Hull will beat Cardiff so it won't matter. If Watford fail to go up through automatic or the play off's it will be interesting to see how they get on next season with the FA changing overseas loan rules. The games that excite me the most are the ones which would leave Leicester outside of the play off's
Morning ristac, I reckon Hull will bottle it. I know Cardiff are away and have nothing to play for as they are going up as Champions, but they will want to put in a good performance
Morning all I can't believe they upheld Austins red card. That is just crazy, guess we'll never know why though. Shall I still put my match thread up for tomorrow, or are people planning on just using Dans on the Watford board?
Morning all Hull will bottle it, Watford will get a point and be promoted. I agree though, the 6th spot in the play offs is the one to watch. Leciesters board will surely get rid of Pearson next term if they dont make the play offs & have another serious stab at it next year. I keep thinking its going to be there season but yet they seem to always throw it away with poor form at the end. Could be a success story for Bolton though as there late charge has put them in with a shot back to the big time
I'd use the matchday thread on the Watford board personally, as its a good one, and its sort of friendly to not always insist on having to have it on our own board. If anyone agrees, someone technically competent could always stick a signpost (sticky?) to it on ours ?
I've 'stickied' ?? a link to the thread If you still want to do a match day thread Durham let me know, I will un sticky it & you can build a link into your thread which will give people an option to where they post. Hope that makes sense!
Morning all. Not a clue as to why Austin's sending off has been upheld. Also, still unclear as to why Diouf was sent off? Heyho, one game left. Let's hope we leave on a high. If we can't win, let's at least put in a decent performance to send the fans away happy for the summer hols.
Morning, I personally don't give a **** who goes up as it doesn't involve us, if I was pushed I would say Hull, as Watford have had more loanees this season than any other team, I think loans should be banned to he honest either buy the player or use your academy, we would see a lot more home grown talent coming through that way.
I have a funny feeling that we’ll beat Watford now that the pressure’s off and there’s nothing for us to play for. Remember when we beat QPR on the last game of the seasons couple of years ago? We made them look like mugs in front of their own crowd (admittedly they had already been promoted, which obviously isn't the case for Watford). I’m just glad that the season’s nearly over. It’s been a shocker, no mistaking.
Afternoon all I'm proud to announce that I've got a Little Miss Wolves-White on the way I couldn't really care about who goes up in 2nd place as I it doesn't involve us. Watford have taken the Micky this season with the amount of loanees that have come in and the FA need to stop it happening again. I think that Hull have a better chance of staying up if they get promoted though.
Cheers Guys I'm going to have to learn to like Maisy Mouse and Pepper Pig pretty quick. Jock I read somewhere that it's £1000 a year.
And when they scored after about ten seconds I thought we were going to be on the receiving end of a real thrashing!
